Today I got to watch gameplay of “Call of Duty Black Ops II” and this is a phenomenal game. There are so many new things that make this like nothing Activision has even done before. I was particularly impressed when I heard about the new “Strike Force” levels. These pop up through the campaign and allow you to become and control any person, drone or vehicle in the mission. You can start out as overwatch and set wave points for the infantry to follow. Then, you can switch to a drone to get a look from above and attack enemies. Once taking damage, you can switch to a soldier and have face-to-face combat. I have never been so exhilarated for a campaign in “Call of Duty” yet!

The Strike Force levels have a huge part in the campaign. Failing or completing a mission, it doesn’t matter, you go on to play the rest of the campaign. It doesn’t hold you at one point until you finally beat the level. If you fail, it counts against you, but either way you will continue. This is how the ending of the game is formed, through the Strike Force levels that you completed or failed to get the job done. Multiple endings for a “Call of Duty”, what!!? This is going to be awesome! Definitely one of the top games to get for this year!

Out.

  1. yeah that does sound like an advancement for call of duty, but overall the game was sort of a let down. A new futuristic approach seemed like it could be good but the general idea wasn’t thought through. All i got from the trailers and the gameplay was that someone hacked into our drones. Then why are we shooting at people? Also not to be shallow but the graphics did not impress the gameplay looked like it was back when mw2 came out worse than mw3. Also it looked sloppy a semi futuristic concept has a lot of wiggle room and they didn’t really use it they just gave the xm8 a splash of paint and put in a bunch of drones. I agree with what EA said, Activision looks tired and out of ideas, more Treyarch though Infinity Ward is still doing well.
