Square went ahead and dropped this a few days early.

Last year at E3, Deus Ex was my ‘Game of Show’, and I have been eagerly awaiting its release since then. I was disappointed that it got pushed back into 2011, but I’d always prefer a delayed, quality release than a rushed, glitchy piece of crap.

It looks like we’ll finally get to see a full build at E3 this year, and there is a release date set for August. I can only hope this game manages to reach some of my expectations. I discussed the background and source material for the story last year with Lead Writer Mary DeMarle, and from our mutual love of many cyberpunk movies and novels, I believe the writing, at least, will hold up very well.

Anyway, here’s the new trailer. Whatcha think?

Dustin Hall is a megalomaniac from the small town of Baldwin in Kansas, now wandering the deserts of Las Vegas in search of new victims. He was probably conceived at a Van Halen concert and raised on a diet of sci-fi and horror movies, fed to him from a disturbingly young age by his uncle. A gamer from a young age, Dustin's brain was shaped by the soft bleeps and bloops of the Atari 2600 and NES. He worked for 10 years as the manager of a game shop, and has owned and played nearly every system known to man. Somehow, this all led to careers in writing and solar engineering. He is also one of the owners of Troll Skull Games.
