This is bad news for my PS3 plans, since FF13 was one of the BIG reasons. Sure, it'll still sell well, on both systems. But it won't push consoles for Sony the way it would have, had it stayed exclusive.
Beyond this, it sounds like this years E3 is going to be fucking AWESOME. Makes me want to go again next year.
I just wish they would actually UPDATE on the damn game. When's the last time we've seen a new trailer or screen shots?
And wow, this news will undoubtedly spark more flame/console wars, and the usual "one less reason to buy a ps3" comments. I think I'm giving up hope on Sony making good moves. This is epic fail. Now pretty much the only thing that will make me get a 360 as well is if M$ makes online gaming free. If not, I'll just get all their 360/PC titles on PC.
Let this be a lesson that 3rd party exclusives can change just like that. (Bioshock anyone?)
I *really* did not see this coming. Wow. I still don't believe it. The sky is a different color now. I think I could believe they're going to remake FFVII now (but multiplatform; they'll want to make as much money as possible off of that one).
What's really disappointing about this (for me anyway), is that the game will probably be a watered down game on the ps3. That and the simple fact that I now have to wait even longer to play the game because they have to complete the 360 version in order to simultaneously release it. While this of course is a really bad day for sony and sony fans, it's nice that 360 owners can play it as well. But why must ps3 owners suffer the wait time? I just don't get it. I'm wondering how much money MS shoved down SE's throat for this one.
I doubt it will be watered down. Slowed down, maybe, but Square Enix knows they've got too much of a pedigree to ruin on one game. I think it'd be safe to say it wasn't going to come out this year anyway. I think if delaying a great game (assuming it's great) a few months means a lot more people get to play it, more power to them. Games are about the enjoyment you get from the game, and I'm all about maximizing that.
But I still want a PS3, if only 'cause my 360 is breaking down again. That's right, my SIXTH 360 has been periodically RRODing. So far I've been able to reset it and it'll work again, but it's heading down a bad road...

I thought falcon chipped 360's stopped having that problem?

Faaaaaalcon CHIP!
Seriously though, what?
The newer 360's that were manufactured after a certain date ( I think it was sometime after summer 2007 ) have the "falcon chip" CPU's that supposedly stop it from the overheating problems. By now, wouldn't you have had a falcon chipped 360 after going through 6 of them?
