Unreal Tournament 3
MechaMan hates it, I love it. It's more of the same with probally one new game mode, updated graphics, and some other new stuff, ( biggest one for ps3 version being mods ). Campaign mode is basically instant action with cutscenes and (poorly developed) main characters and story, and I'm PERFECTLY fine with that. Most of the beef is in Multiplayer, although I really always loved playing Instant action when I just wanted to get in right away. Most people don't. GOD I love UT...
Anyone else out of the 3 people here with High-end PCs/PS3's have it?

You should play tag. The person who is it uses the impact hammer only and has to try to kill the other players. Whoever gets killed or dies while being chased becomes it. Those who aren't it aren't allowed to shoot and aren't allowed to have the impact hammer out. Set whatever goals you want to determine the winner.
The sound... it is haunting...
(Yay for friends and LAN parties)

Muteki, it would be awesome if you could edit a Master Chief helmet onto your avatar on the military guy.
Also, I can't wait for UT3 to come out on 360. Xbox Live ftw
I just want to drive one of those damned Tripods. I mean come on...it's OBVIOUS that they're the things from War of the Worlds. They walk on three legs and fire decentigration beams everywhere like a bunch of tall bitches.

I already got some cool mods, and a huge Living room map. It's really easy to install mods, but the downside is that you can only import 1 mod at a time, since every mod/map you download HAS to be under "userdata.jam" . So it can be a real pain in the ass if you plan on installing a whole bunch at once. I got some cool stuff from http://www.ut3mod.com , like the Jetpack and ActionCam mutators. and you must get the map DM-flatwars. The biggest one that i'm awaiting for though is "Resident Evil: Outbreak resurrection".

I'm stoked for that one! There is a zombie total conversion game of UT2k4 called "Killing Floor" that I loved. This should be just as awesome if not better.

I've been playing it lots. The campaign mode was useful as a tutorial on how to play (a lot of the finer points have changed since UT2004 and it was good to get a refresher), and at least the story wasn't as bad as say Soul Calibur
. It's definitely the only online game I'll play, and I'd say in every way I can imagine it's UT perfected (I hated Assault anyway so fuck it).

Well, I was a little upset they took out Assault AND Onslaught, because I thought those were some cool game modes. Also, one thing that annoys me on the console version is the analog stick deadzone, and that you HAVE to run full speed even when you just slightly tilt the analog stick forward. I feel like they didn't really do as good as they could have done with the controls. It feels like the game was really made for keyboard and mouse, and that Gamepad controls weren't taken into consideration. There is no crouch button (There is a feign death button, which I'm glad they brought that back, since it wasn't in UT2003/2004) , and precision aiming with the sniper rifle and shock rifle can be a little tough. another minor annoyance is that I just feel like there aren't that many people playing online. It sucks that this game sold poorly, it's one of my favorite FPS's. Do you have any idea how fun it is to drive that war of the worlds monster thing and climb over buildings and stuff with it's legs?

Re: Unreal Tournament 3
There's usually a decent number on the PC version at any given time, say a few hundred or so; not CoD4 or Halo 3 numbers by any stretch, but enough to find the match of your choice at any given time. I'm sure the 360 version will sell more than the other two combined anyway, so online numbers should be way up for that console.
It kinda sucks that they couldn't find a way to bring the PC and PS3 gamers together in one server, but oh well.

I don't really think they could've gone cross platform to 360 since Microsoft does all the servers for Live for everyone but EA, and because the 360 version probably won't have the same mod support that the PC and PS3 versions do (that'd be a mighty quick way to hack the 360 I'd imagine; just find a buffer overflow in Unreal Engine, make a map to exploit it, and run a match with someone on a 360).

Re: Unreal Tournament 3
So does that mean that a buffer overflow exploit on ps3 is now possible O_O!?

Re: Unreal Tournament 3
No, but allowing unsigned code to run usually leads to one, and I'd imagine finding one in a massive system like Unreal Engine would be a lot easier than finding one in something like libtiff.

God, ps3 has been completely homebrewless for the past 1 1/2 years. When is something going to happen!
