SSBB Final Smashes
SSBB Final Smashes
For those of you that wanna see all the final smashes in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, well...Lucky for you, someone who owned the game in Japan made a video with a friend of theirs or something like that and recorded all the final smashes for everyone to see. Then someone downloaded tha video and put it up on youtube, along with over a hundred other gameplay videso from the same site of which I do not know the URL.
I dunno who all would consider this a spoiler and who wouldn't...but here's the video, with a spoiler tag on it:
*SPOILERS*

WARNING: Luigi's Final Smash has a HUGE "wtf!?" factor. Also, you WILL see cloned Smashes. As far as I'm aware the only one of these characters with a cloned Smash that has an entirely cloned moveset is Toon Link, who also has some marginal differences in his moveset (minus the whirlwind effect from his boomerang to start with). Huge opportunity wasted with Wolf's Final Smash as you'll see very easily.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Zero Suit Samus' Final Smash is NOT shown in the video. She does have one, but it's not super stellar. You can see it on the Smash Bros. Dojo site if you want, but I'll quickly summarize it if you don't.
Zamus just jumps into the air, spins around, and this sucks in the enemies around her and damages them. I THINK that at the end there's an explosion of light that might send enemies flying, but I'm not sure. Personally I had a really cool idea on how to make her Final Smash cooler...but I won't gripe about it since I really couldn't expect Sakurai to think up what I thought up.
Also, for those of you that don't know already, if you hold down one of your shield buttons, you can become Zero Suit Samus right at the start of the match, much like you could with Shiek in Melee. Also, if you use your taunts in a specific order (up, down, up) really quickly you can also make Samus become Zamus in the middle of the fight as well. Remember you need to get your smash ball if you wanna change back though. I thought I'd just tell that to those of you that haven't heard that floating around the net yet and haven't seen the update on the Dojo site tonight. Especially if you're one of the guys I end up playing online.
*END SPOILERs*
Well. I dunno what to say other than what I listed above. Nothing too important or amazing, but it is nice to look at, and it'll clear out some of the disappointments you'll have when you play the game and find out that a lot of the final smashes ultimately left quite a bit to be desired. A few are also quite a bit more amazing than you might've expected as well.
Keep in mind the full effect of a lot of these Final Smashes can't be seen, as they were designed to be used in large 4-man Brawls. These are used merely used in one-on-one Brawls in the video, and it's on a perfectly flat field, thus not much mayhem occurs in a lot of these examples. Also, some of the examples are just horrible since they don't show the entire potential of the smash (the ones I noted most was Diddy Kong's and Donkey Kong's)

I watched that a while ago... Then again I am obsessed with Brawl even though it isn't out yet.
Why don't you like Jigglypuff's FS? I like it. A lot of stages seem rather small so using that can take up a large amount of the stage, pushing people off. Then again I main Jigglypuff in Melee so there is that bit of bias there =P

They're supposed to be in a way. Most of them won't really be deciding factors though. Every Final Smash does have a weakness to balance it out, despite it usually being hard to manipulate that weakness on some of the less stellar final smashes.Verence wrote:Is it me or do the final smashes seem really unbalanced?
EDIT: Oh yeah...one way to give an example of this is also to notice that a lot of Final Smashes will be better in 4 player matches while there's several that will be best used when in 2 player matches. Example being Ness and Lucas when they use PK Starstorm (granted there are differences between how the meteors look, move, and the amount of damage they do, and I THINK the quantity too, but I'd have to check back up on that since I'm not entirely sure).
That will do better in 4 player matches becasue, if you noticed, it was doing crap. The meteors came down slow and were easy to avoid Just walk under them to a space where it's safer. In a 4 player match, that's a lot harder because you have to dodge the storm and other enemies. Even if you don't get attacked by them, you'll all be pushing each other out of the safe spots and back under the meteors.
Now, look at Link and Toon Link's Final Smash. That one will obviously be better in a 1-on-1 match as it really only harms one person, and afterward Link's left vulnerable for a very short while. In other words, Link leaves himself open to attack at the expense of POSSIBLY killing one of his 2 or 3 enemies. Granted there's a very high chance he'll kill them and he offers optimum pwnage when performing this attack, but still, it's NEVER good to EVER be open for attack unless you're in a damn close match.
