Devil May Cry 4!

Post by WiizerFanboy »

The demo, was sweeeeeet. It plays exactly how previous DMC's have played, which is great, why fix something if it ain't broken? of course, I still hate how there isn't a blocking system in the game, and the camera can get meh sometimes. But other than that, WOW It's so being purchased. Nero is more of a bad ass than I thought he was. He's got that badass attitude that the DMC3 dante had, only with a bit more subtlety. he's so much more better to use too. You can actually do aerial combos with him since you can slash in mid-air and not just do the helm breaker like dante does. You can do more combos with Nero in general, since he's got his sword, his arm, and his gun ( The Blue Rose ), which is a sexy gun, and owns Ebony and Ivory in my opinion. Doesn't fire like an actual revolver type gun which is good. Bad part is the guns are STILL so weak, and pretty much don't do any damage. But it just looks so sexy when you're flying around all over the place and you're slinging your gun around. I think I like Nero better than Dante, to be honest. although they haven't let us play as Dante in the demo, which would've been a sensible thing to do, since there is two missions in it.

Go download the demo, it's out now on Xbox Live and Playstation Network store. If you're a fan of the series, or a fan of action adventure games in general, This is DEFINITELY a must have. I know my money is going towards this one.

Played it, got my ass kicked, expecting a super-duper-easy mode for people who aren't fond games being hard for the sake of being hard like myself.

Never played any of the other ones but my brother played all 3. When I saw it for download yesterday I thought I would give it a shot.

I do have to agree, the demo kicks some serious ass.

The demo was meh.

I'm getting a little tired of sequels. Halo 3, DMC4, etc. Sure they're still great, but I know exactly what to expect gameplay/story/dialog-wise.

I dunno, maybe I'm just in a bad mood. :P

He whipped my ass the first 6 or 7 times before it became incredibly easy. I just had to lay off my fancy 10-hit combos, watch when he punches the ground to create those flame tower things, and back up whenever he does that exploding move.

I love the DMC series (especially 1 and 3) and this game might be the best in the series. Of course I'll have to wait to play the full version, but I was really impressed.

DMC4 = $$$

I dunno if you guys have played the game yet, but it is compleatly full of awesome! They just packed it right in, like you wouldn't belive. I would easy call it a must-play if you're any kind of a fan of that type of game.

A few things though,
DMC4 dosn't seem to be anywhere near as difficult as 3 was. Nero is largly the cause of this because his devil-arm can reach, grab an opponent and fling them around, compleatly disarming them and knocking them into other opponenets keeping them from having any kind of a chance to enflict any real damage. This mechanic can simply be spammed to great effect, wich is a little unfortunate. But it does lull you into a sense of security before... well... you'll see.
But of course there are harder and easier difficulties to be unlocked.

You can block in devil may cry. Dante Has the "Royal Gaurd" stance or whatever, and that's exactly what it does, it absorbs the majority of the damage and redirects it back at you opponent.

DMC4 is an achivment in badassery that I havn't seen before, DMC 1 and 3 were bad ass, sure enough, but it was buried under a thick layer of cheesy one liners and such that made it hard to swollow.

I will without a doubt say that if you play through the game your jaw will drop at least 50 times and the shear awesomeness of it all. They really out did themselves I thought.
