Super Turrican 2!!!!

Post by Web_22 »

I remember back in 94 or 95 reading a review on this game I'd wanted for so long. The thing was, I read it in that lamepro magazine. As far as I knew, the game was never released. My heart was broken, seeing as I had thoroughly enjoyed Super Turrican on the SNES, and Mega Turrican on the Genesis. Well, it's 2003, and one of my fellow posters from another board has found Super Turrican 2, bought it, and is awaiting my money order to ship it to me. Super Turrican and Mega were fairly easy, but I loved the graphics, music, sound effects, and overall feel of this sidescrolling platform shooter. I can't wait to fire up Super Turrican 2 on my SNES as ST1 is still an enjoyable and playable title.

I want to say that Super Turrican 2 came out on another system....but I'm not sure which one...I may be thinking of normal Super Turrican...but I'll hunt around for it.

I really never got into the series...it just didn't really appeal to me that much. Oh well...I'll keep you updated if I find anything, man.

Nothing better than finding one of those long lost games.

From what I know, Turrican came out on NES and PC a while ago. There was an old Turrican on Genesis as well put out by some cheesy publisher and it was aweful. Super Turrican was at Blockbuster way back around 93 when I rented a SNES and that game. I was hooked by everything. It was like a Contra/Metroid hybrid of some sorts since you could roll into a ball and drop bombs, but still run around and wreak havoc with the spreadshot. The music is still pretty good today. Then I saw Mega Turrican on Genesis and picked that up quick. A lot of shared music, some shared stages, and weapons, but the there were a few differences and additions as well. Both were very fun. I still have Super turrican but not Mega Turrican. I'll probably pick up Mega next time thru over at Game X Change, unless you guys happen to have it Jack.

Nope, unfortunately, we do not have Mega Turrican at EB.
