Yes, it was the gpu heatsink that had the problem. Eventually the heat produced caused the motherboard to slowly crack, once it cracks enough... red ring. I rarely say something I haven't actually researched. So I wouldn't say how they were all defective if I hadn't actually read that it was something like this.Vamp wrote:Having a processor that's too hot for the cooling system is kinda hard to mistakenly correct.
I guess the apathy towards this issue is a sign for me that I'm the only one that still cares about this issue. I would love to be able to hear the music from Lost Odyssey without the WHIIIRRRREWRMMMRMRMRMRMRMRMRMRMRVRRR in the background.
For better or worse, I'm a fighter. It is not in my personality to say, "this is good enough." Or that they've gotten a "good enough," fix. I'll keep saying what I feel is right every time that the issue comes up, without fail. I feel like my fellow gamers have been wronged, and I will not just ignore the issue when it comes up. I don't feel like I've ever just out of the blue mentioned the 360 issues, but only add them to an already brought up discussion. Unless there is some new issue like the DRM, or a new system red ringing at a GDC. I know that some people can stand the noise, or the issues, and that it does not bother them. But, it bothers me, and I can't just not mention a problem that I think is important because the majority of people are ok with it. It would be dishonest for me to do otherwise. The day that I stop feeling passionate about this stuff and not caring will be the last time I say, "Hey what's up," and I don't feel like that day is anytime soon.
