Yeah, being yourself never really gets anyone a friend in the world, does it?
Anyway, they can still call it a sequel all the same. They don't have to say it is on the cover or anything, but to a journalist who should know this and can mention it in their article for people to read, and learn that there's another game with the same gameplay style in another country.
You aren't going to tell me they couldn't have done that...
Also, you're looking for the word "contradictoriness" Q. Kind of a long, and awkward to pronounce word.

whoa mericks. triple post.
anyways i was only trying to be nice by not flatout staying that it was a different game. i don't like to be rude, and call people newbies or start arguments for no reason.
verence, thanks for being polite in your posts. i was only confused by the fact that people were calling a game that wasn't a port a port. what made me confused to begin with was that someone said american's wouldn't get the pop references in elite beat agents. seeing as that it was made for american's i was confused by that assumption.
i suppose i should have been more forward and just said "hey this isn't ouendan," but i didn't. mainly cause i think it was the staff that made that mistake and i didn't want to correct someone on the staff. it would just have been rude to come back to the forum out of the blue to correct someone.
and q, thanks for coming in and clearing this up for everyone. i don't check the boards much so i didn't get around to looking at the replies till now.

EDIT:
I looked into it, and it turns out Elite Beat Agents is an entirely new game made for the western market, just as Ouendan was made for the japanese market. So it's not a sequel, it just has the same gameplay. The track list and "story" are completely different. I guess the original had so many references to japanese culture and music they felt it would be impossible to translate, so they just started from scratch.
I REALLY want to play Ouendan now that I've seen the track list.
