Line by line, shot by shot remakes do not work well as the Vince Vaughn Psycho shows. It is just hard for me to understand why one would expect a something in one medium to be exactly the same in another medium. I would not be opposed to a Watchman painting, and would next expect it to be exactly like the comic as it is another artist's interpretation. The same way if someone tells you a story and you retell it, there is usually some slight variation on the telling of the story if not the information within.
I can understand the argument that there is no point as there would be no point, in my opinion, to an exact remake as then why not just read the comic book?
I'm very excited for this brand new interpretation on a beloved story.

Doctor Manhattan (Dr. Jonathan Osterman) is essentially a god in the world of The Watchmen. After being ripped apart at the subatomic level in an accident, his conciousness somehow re-constitutes itself. After coming back, he is nigh-omnipotent. He's the world's foremost superhero.
I could go further, but that would be a diservice.
I've never read the, I guess it is a graphic novel/comic...maybe I'll rent it. Movie are expensive now a days, so unless I have absolute faith it will be good...I'm not going to dump $10 down the drain.
