Naruto: Ninja Storm

Post by WiizerFanboy »

Anyone else played the demo? I quit watching the show about 2 years ago, partly due to my low tolerance of filler episodes, and repetitiveness ( I stopped at around episode 150 or so). But the game is fun. Gameplay wise, It's not a usual 2D style fighter, but it's not quite a 3D fighter like Soul calibur. It's free range, so you can run around the whole map, run on walls, water etc. There's one melee attack button, but you can pull of different combos based on how long/short the interval is between button presses, and by combining different chakra moves and throw moves with them. I think the best thing about the game for me is that the action is just as fast as the show.

One of the features that they put in (Thank the lord) is the option to set the voices to either japanese or english. You'll immediately want to set it to Japanese since we all know the english voice actors are horrific. And the visuals are just awesome. You'd think you're watching the show itself.

Yeah, the english voices make me want to strangle a kitten.

I haven't heard Orochimaru's English voice, but damn, I can only imagine.

And, I'll pass on this game. If they made a Naruto game in the same style as PoP, then, yeah, I'd play it. But these straight up simple as hell fighting games? Pass.

Personally, I liked one of the 2 Naruto games I've played. I don't remember which one we played at the party, but that game was so much fuckin' fun. Like a Super Smash Naruto or something. The first game I played though...way too fucking simple. I do believe it was the first Ultimate Ninja. It had a maximum of about 10 or so characters and each one had like...2 special attacks...It was very boring...

Yeah, this one is pretty simple too. The thing that made it somewhat enjoyable to me was just how fast paced it was.
