Megaman X8 (wtf mate?)
I started playing Megaman X8 for the first time ever today, and I was scratching my head trying to figure out why this game received crap. I actually had fun with it. There's a pretty decent amount of variety in the game, what with 3 different navigators and hunters. While it doesn't feel like Megaman X 1-3, it's still very much enjoyable. At least I thought so .

Wow, awfully opinionated with your avatar and banner sig, aren't we?
Never got a chance to play X8, really. I'm thinking of getter one of those unlimited Blockbuster accounts temporarily so I can just try all the PS2 games I wanted to but never got a chance to.

I just got tired of seeing this bullshit mac ads where they make people believe that something other than a lack of a quantity of software, completely upgradeable hardware, and having a ridiculous price tag sets it apart from a PC. I've used an Air for a week, and while it has some nice little quirks here and there, it's just not worth the astounding price. But then again, that's how I feel. I've yet to have a problem with Vista.

Mega Man X8 is actually pretty good like you said. MMHP have it a decent review: http://mmhp.net/GameHints/MMX8.html#ReviewWiizerFanboy wrote:I just got tired of seeing this bullshit mac ads where they make people believe that something other than a lack of a quantity of software, completely upgradeable hardware, and having a ridiculous price tag sets it apart from a PC. As for Macs... yes Air is stupid and ridiculous. As someone who used PCs and hated Macs, and then made the switch once I realized everything I did could be done better on a Mac, I feel I have a pretty good understanding of both sides of the issue. I don't really think either side is better from an absolute point of view. There are definitely arguments on both sides in regards to the OS. From the various reading I've done in terms of the internal workings I'd take OSX over Windows (XP or Vista) anytime.
Obviously, for games Windows is a better choice. I simply never play PC games, though. The only ones I ever really played were JK 1 and 2 and Tie Fighter.
But, for everything else that I have attempted to use either for, Macs are better.
I used to get pissed at the Mac commercials simply because I didn't think they were true, but after using and servicing both (I was a technician for both in High School and at KU) I can definitely say that the PCs had more problems. Macs definitely aren't perfect, and I think it is a bit of a moot point to argue which one is better because everyone just uses what they want to.
The show is a million times easier with a mac though. The only technical problems we ever have now are related to network issues on the server side, or a wonky driver release from a 3rd party (that only happened once.) Wheras on the PC there were all sorts of weird issues. I literally had to open all the applications (around 6 of them) in the correct order or the show would not work. Now, I have one program that does all those functions and more, better. I also never have my computer blue screen of death in the middle of the show anymore...
You know what, all that really matters is that Mac is better for what I do and PC is better for what you do. I'm glad you speak your mind about your preferences, though. Be a lame forum otherwise.
Re: Megaman X8 (wtf mate?)
The whole games argument for PC's doesn't really work anymore. Rampant piracy has forced publishers to go to consoles, i.e. Crytek. There's a good PC titles every once in awhile, but not enough to justify the high price tag.
This, coming from a PC guy, who once used the games argument on a Mac guy.
EDIT: And yeah, Mac advertising IS retarded.

I don't think I'll ever have need for a Mac, but I did buy a console. There was just too much I was missing out on, so I bought a PS3. My first console, ever. (feels like your first bj) Picked up GT5:P, UT3, and Army of Two for starters. It's weird, Richie knows I've always been all about the PC, and that's where I played CoD4, and I still plan on picking up the Orange Box for PC, but it's nice being a little more well-rounded.
I have spoken.

I think the Ps3 or Wii is probably the best choice for someone who already has a PC. And welcome back Realm!
Most advertising is very unintersting to us because we are not the target audience. The Macs aren't advertised to Mac enthusiasts the same way games aren't advertised to gaming enthusiasts (especially now.) Most things are marketed towards an appeal for everyone since the hardcore will research and figure out what they want to purchase by themselves.

That is actually pretty true, since a good PC + Steam + gamepad is pretty much the same as an Xbox 360 with XBL. If you think about it there are a lot of 360 games that are on PC, or coming to PC.BreakmanX wrote:I think the Ps3 or Wii is probably the best choice for someone who already has a PC.

Thanks man! I'm back to stay, just graduated. So now I'm in the land of the living again, just waiting on a shipping job to start down in the Gulf.Break wrote:I think the Ps3 or Wii is probably the best choice for someone who already has a PC. And welcome back Realm!
Yeah I'm happy with the PS3, and now I have a blu-ray player and all that jazz. I plan to pick up a Wii at some point, maybe in a couple months.
