It's new, therefore better? It's popular, therefore better? I don't like controlling by motion; half the time it's completely imprecise, the other half it's completely useless and shoved in just because it's there (ala Twilight Princess, shake the remote to slash instead of just press the fucking button). I don't really care what you or anyone else thinks, and I don't see it opening any new gaming possibilities that don't suck my balls dry (non-game games, cooking simulators, etc). If that's the way the industry is trending, then I won't go with it; they can take my DualShock from my cold dead hands. The point I was trying to make with the Xbox thing is that motion control could be done.

And honestly, I think the design of the Xbox was a rather good idea, if only it had been implemented more effectively; I would love to see a standard SKU and design platform for PC gaming that can also be hooked up to a television (which is exactly what the Xbox could have been).

Vamp, you're nitpicking out the games that do shitty jobs and the games you don't wanna play since you don't consider them games (SOME of which are actually pretty good). The Wiimote HAS actually had several titles that use it really well. It's a lot more fluid and natural than just pushing a button sometimes.

I can definitely say Twilight Princess did a HORRIBLE job with the motion control. Super Mario Galaxy did a somewhat better job with it...I think that game could've been a lot better with motion control use, but that was more about bouncing around the galaxies than using motion control. Still not an excuse, I know. Fun game regardless.

Thing is, however, that there are some games that have used it really well. One that I REALLY liked was Trauma Center. It did a great job with it. Sonic and the Secret Rings did a nice job as well, despite the fact that it was moreso in the multiplayer than in the single player. The motion control in the single player was fairly well done...It was a bit unpolished in an area or two, but overall worked fairly nicely.

And personally, I like having the point'n'shoot option with my shooters. I can aim a lot more precisely that way and I've done a shit ton better on said shooter since I've been able to point and shoot, as opposed to how shitty I am on the dual analog control option.

And yes, the Xbox design COULD have been a good design, but it wasn't. If I had said it had the potential to be good before Vamp, 5 bucks say he would have said that exact same sentence, just for the sake of disagreement.

I look forward to a Zelda game that truly utilizes the Wiimote. Hourglass kicks some serious ass, so you know the N is up for it.

And speaking of overrated SNES games, when's F-Zero Wii coming?

F-Zero GX moved less copies than Metroid Prime 2 did... so I doubt Nintendo's anxious to revisit that ground.

I dunno why...F-Zero GX was a really good game.

The game did sell horribly overall though...that is a fact...I dunno why it sold so horribly, but it did.

I'd prefer a gamepad over gimmicky motion controls. I'm sure there are some Wii games that do a good job of using them, but for the most part it's just the same old games that you've seen and played before, but with motion controls slapped onto it.

I kind of a agree here, actually. I feel about the motion stuff the same way I feel about the stylus on the DS and 3d. Sure, different things are great when used well but that doesn't mean that EVERY GODDAMN GAME HAS TO USE THEM.

Well he wasn't so much dissing it. He actually did make a fairly valid point. There are A LOT of games that just slap controls on to be cheap sellouts, and I've stated that as well. I mean like...a WHOLE lot. The ones that actually do a decent job are worth it. Trauma Center was possibly one of the most orgasmic gaming experiences ever. I mean I played the fuck out of that game. The DS game was good too, but I vastly preferred the Wii game (well...there's 2 now, but I haven't played the new one).

Wii sports actually did a decent job as well. It was a little iffy at times, but it was pretty good. I still want my fuckin' copy back. I was a bowling addict. Metroid Prime 3 was the only one of the big Nintendo titles, save for Wii Sports, to actually make a decent job of using the Wiimote, and dear lord did it do an amazing job. It may or may not be one of your favorite games...but when you play it...damn, you gotta give it credit. Retro did a damn good job.

I think Metroid Prime 3 made me hate Red Steel a little. Red still did a semi-decent job with the motion controls. It could've been better, fuck yeah. Especially after having the most AMAZINGLY misleading ad ever. I swear someone should've sued for false advertising. That shit just wasn't cool. I won't get into details, but MOST of the motion control related to tiny little easter eggs, rather than actual gameplay. there was some that involved gameplay, but not as much as there was focused on the little details. That's not necessarily bad since little details like your arm moving to match the positions your arm is/should be making is an incredibly immersive technique. I found a way to glitch the game to fuck that up though :P

Anyway, I'm talking way too much on this issue.

Yeah, MP3 did motion controls in a non-shit manner for the most part (saving using those awful switches), but in the end I was left feeling the same way I always have about FPSes: they belong on PC. I would still have preferred a mouse/keyboard combo, as it just would have been more precise and easier to use.

The Wiimote still wouldn't be as quick or precise as a real keyboard/mouse combo. The Wiimote is more intuitive than a dual analog controller, but it's been seven years since Halo came out, so dual analog is second nature to just about everyone.
