In this world, from ancient times, people were eaten by beings called "youma." For a long time, people lived without any means to counter them. However, a half-human, half-youma female warrior was born... Female soldiers known as "Claymore" who, with silver eyes that can see through to the true form of "youma", and carry a large sword as a weapon, continue to battle those which people have named "youma."

The youma are monsters that are capable of shape shifting that live by feeding off human organs. The Claymore are capable of seeing through their disguises and are able to kill them. The Claymore are given their name by the people because of the giant claymores they use.

There is a lot of blood and violence in this show. Heck, if I remember correctly there isn't a single episode that doesn't have blood and violence somewhere in it.

The fights also keep getting more and more intense as the series goes on.

I highly recommend this show to anyone who can handle blood in anime.

I've never seen the anime, just read the manga. It's pretty good.

You should check out one of Norihiro Yagi's other manga, Angel Densetsu. I really like it.
