Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Q and I went to see this last Friday and we both really enjoyed it (and yes, we were watching the film the whole time). I prefer the book but this was very well done and enjoyable and I suggest you all go see it.
If you haven't been following the films or the books thus far - shame on you!

I've been following the films since I got halfway through the 3rd book. Now I just have the books as collector's items until I start reading them again.dirtyprettythings wrote:Q and I went to see this last Friday and we both really enjoyed it (and yes, we were watching the film the whole time). I think I'm going to go have some pudding now.
My girlfriend made me take her to it last night. Fucking CHRIST it was long. Granted, I've never touched the books or seen any of the movies, but this motherfucker felt like it was gonna drag on forever.
It did have some interesting parts - government invervention in schools, stupid politicians, ignorance - which added some depth. I also enjoyed seeing Helena Bonham Carter playing another bad girl, and Hans Gruber from Die Hard playing another bad guy.

He doesn't play a bad guy. Don't you know that Snape's not evil until #6? This is #5! #5, Richie!Richie wrote:My girlfriend made me take her to it last night. Fucking CHRIST it was long. I know, but my reading ability's been getting worse and worse as I've been getting older. I can't focus on lines of text very well so I have 2 options:Jbrown wrote:Books ARE WAY BETTER.
1) Spend 3 minutes figuring out which line is which
2) Read the words out of order and piece them together. Kind of like what I did in German class.

I used to have this problem too... Contacts are actually much better at correcting eye problems and basically took this problem away for me. I'd strongly suggest trying contacts.Mericks wrote:I know, but my reading ability's been getting worse and worse as I've been getting older. Oh, end of the 7th book. Snape kills Harry, Hermoine, Hedwig (Harry's owl), ends up actually being the bastard child of a phoenix, dragon, unicorn, and muggle orgy, Ron turns out to be bisexual, and Draco is full-blown gay. Oh yeah, and Dumbledore is Harry's younger brother, and he's not actually dead, he's a vegetable now! Also, Neville is actually the greatest wizard in the world, and doesn't even need a wand, for he is the son of Superman and Jean Grey.dirtyprettythings wrote:The debate still goes on as to whose side Snape is really on... guess we have to read the final book to find out!
There, I spoiled the ending. Good day.
Hm...I don't look good without my glasses. Not a pretty sight at all. Granted, I don't look good with them either, but I look worse without them.BreakmanX wrote:I used to have this problem too... Anyway, did you ever have a problem with finding it hard to focus on computer or TV screens? Or cell phone screens...or any handheld screen for the matter...pretty much anything with a backlight I guess is what I'm trying to say, because I often phase out while I'm typing, reading, or playing a game, and it annoys me, so I have to look away, and when I look back, I phase out again. It's not as much of a problem with typing and playing games since I can do pretty good just from feeling, but it's kind of hard to read based off that.
