WARNING: DO NOT PLAY FORZA 2 IF YOU WANT YOUR 360 To LIVE!!!

Post by WiizerFanboy »

Well, the 360 just keeps getting more unreliable by the minute. (Break this is another number to add to your anti-microsoft chart ). Apparently, Forza 2 has been causing numerous xbox 360 consoles to crash, and has even caused them to receive the infamous "Red Rings Of Death". No one really knows how exactly its happening. Some think that the game pushes the system to its limits, causing it to overheat somehow. A thread was started on the official Forza 2 forums with over 900 replies. Shortly thereafter, the thread got deleted.(Now why would they do something like that...)

Some people don't receive Red Rings the first time, others usually get the small temp crashes|glitches and then get Red Rings. But It'd be a very good idea to just stay away from the game until the problem is fixed.

An article from QJ

"
There's a certain thread in the Forza Motorsport 2 forums that's already reached a whopping 60 pages, and it's all about the random glitching, crashing and overall just weird behavior of the game while it's being played. While a few bugs and crashes can be chalked up to a careless glitch, there's even a few reports of the game actually causing owners' 360s to contract the all-too-horrifying red ring of death - which means that there's something not quite right with Forza 2. Let's dig a bit deeper to see what the posters are actually going through.

Reading the thread, we find out that the crashes happen randomly at any point in the game. Some posters report the game crashing during offline races, others while purchasing or painting new cars. A few even reported the game crashing even while there's no visible activity at all, such as during loading screens or just looking at your own cars.

It's to note that the users who have reported these incidents have made it clear that they've taken steps to ensure that their consoles have been properly taken care of and are very well-ventilated during play, as well as not having any problems of the sort with other high-end games for the Xbox 360.

Another alarming post comes from poster srt4turbo2004 - saying that Forza 2 has pretty much forced him to change consoles, with the same result of the game crashing. He also noted that the crashes are telegraphed by a grinding noise, a noise that occur ed even with a fresh-out-of-the-box console. Weird.

We can only hope that Turn10 addresses this issue and fast. Forza Motorsport 2 clearly has a lot of fans who want to enjoy the game as much as they could, and are disappointed that these crashes are preventing them from doing so. Updates as we get them.

Thanks to Mike for the tip!"

Oh and, My deepest condolences to Richie, as you can no longer enjoy your game without the worry of having to send it back YET AGAIN. :-({|=

This must be what reading your own obituary feels like.

I called up M$ last week, they said they'd get back to me within two days. Three days later, no call.

Going to raise hell, BRB.

The possibility of pushing it to the max seems logical. I remember reading that Team Ninja had gotten their dev units to smoke while tuning the graphics.

If you take into account that dev and testing rooms usually have the A.C. up pretty high to help out the electronics, the warmer temperature most of us dwell in could destroy 360s.

Can we all just say that the 360 hardware sucks serious balls?

It's a sad day when a company makes hardware that operates better if you get a "defective" unit instead of the "operatinal" units.

Seriously though, why do we constantly still buy these consoles? It's like snorting cocaine. You enjoy it for a while, but then you have trouble replacing it and you end up getting a product that looks like it'll work, but it ends up being little more than a tiny package of sugar. Fucking con artist.
