ok, as some of you know, the official name for Tool's new album is said to be 10,000 days. I took a look at that, and almost immediately dismissed that as a name, now I'm not saying I'm right in saying this but there is a really strong possibility for a different name. Not to many Tool fans here from before Lateralus. But if you can remember there was a fake name posted before the album, and has also had been done for other albums.

My thinking is that we will get the artwork leaked soon, tracklisting, and maybe even a single. I have a feeling that Tool, Blair, and Kabir are planing one hell of an April fool's joke, the past two weren't too good, ( Maynard finfing Jesus, and the talk about Tool doing a Reality T.V. show.) I reall think that the 10,000 days name, tracklisting that we will see as well as artwork that is said to be leaked soon, is all a .... joke.....

Why not? people that know Tool's less serious side, will know that this is wholly possible, and may even be true. Thats where I stand on this whole thing, if it isn't a joke like I'm anticipating it to be then thats totally fine, it may take me a bit to get used to a drastic change as this, but I'm not expecting anything out of this album, so I'll find it enjoyable either way.

To me it's just not like Tool to give album information soo damn early and not have it change. I'm thinking back to the "Mummery and Encephelae" that Tool themselves released before the release of Lateralus, I can't believe this title until I have the album in my hands, I truly believe that its all a joke.. I'm also thinking back to the pictures that tool had released for possible album names for Aenima. 2 3 4.

I'm sorry to anyone who truly thinks that "10,000 days" is going to be the name, I wish I could believe this, but right now, I'm taking it as a joke, and Tool just poking fun at Disturbed's album "10,000 fists".

When April 1st rolls around, and when May rolls around, we will se the truth.

I have to head off to choir so I don't have enough time to really devote a post this, but you do have a good point too.

I've been listening to Tool since 1996, so I remember the pre-Lateralus jokes and names that happened. It is very possible that 10,000 days is decoy. However, there are at least three possible spiritual meanings that I've found behind it.. that is the only thing that leads me to believe that. That and that it was posted on Tool Army.

I thought last year's April fool's was pretty hillarious... the Jesus thing cracked me up. Especially that MTV and loosecannon bought it hardcore.

Anyway, the names don't mean anything to me till I hear the music. I just need something to call this divine gift until I receive it!

ok I over reacted with the jesus thing, and good point with the last paragraph there, If the title came after april fools i wouldn't have doubted it :dunno:

10,000 DAYS

For those of you who are REALLY impatient, it would appear that they're already selling Tool's 10,000 Days on Amazon (Germany). Here's the link:

I don't know how they pulled that one off - but they're pulling something, alright! For the rest of you who want the the REAL 10,000 Days from Tool, the official release date of MAY 2nd isn't that far away. As for the 'new' artwork that's popping up all over the internet, all I can say is that when the actual 10,000 Days album artwork/packaging is leaked or posted, not as many people will think that IT is fake! Which brings me to this: The album title and track listings that were recently posted on the official Tool sites are the real deal. You wanted this information, and we wanted to give it to you as soon as the titles were in the hands of the printers (and there were no last minute changes by the band - hence, the temporary embargo you've no doubt heard about). Perhaps this will convince you of the titles being genuine. If not, I suppose you'll just have to wait to see for yourself.

yeah, if this is real so be it, if not, it'l go down as probably one of the biggest april fool's pranks ever. oh shit.
