That reminds me of how much I hate the Sims. I'm with Realm on this one. I mean, I think that girls like Sims more than guys, and it's cool. I mean, we have to have different types of gamers in the world. BUT if I had my way, I would bust through one of their houses and take out a glock and give em two in the head, .
I've played both games, although I don't own either. I do have to admit it has its interesting points because there are interesting things you can do, but it gets repetitive quickly. And I'll admit I had some fun with the first game. I was the mean neighbor. I'd invite people over to my house, trap the stupid AI people in a corner until they died, and then line my sidewalk up to my front door with their gravestones. So if I killd off a guy's wife, I'd invite himover only to have him get pissed at me and greeve in front of his wife's gravestones. Sadistic I know, but it was amusing.
However all this expansion crap has to stop. They have way too many for Sim1, and they're already starting to whore out the expansions for 2. They're ok games, but shouldn't be making the top of the charts every damn week. And I really can't see how people get so hooked on them when things get so repetitive so fast. Torchuring your little sims is amusing for only so long.

The University expansion sucked, plain and simple. The Nightlife one looks more promising, but yeah... it pisses me off that to get the most out of the game you have to buy loads of expansion packs just to get what imo should have been in the original package. But then again, it does at least allow you to choose what expansions interest you.
Sims 2 is my background game, it amuses and absorbs me - a bit like a more grown up version of a dolls house I suppose - but the gameplay is somewhat limited. I think what pulls me back time and again is the control freak thing. I make sims of real people and I get to control them... plus, I quite like having them fall in love and make babies.
Plus, I like when bugs make random stuff happen, like the 'evil toilet' episode. When Carmack and Tori first had the twins it was a nightmare and Carmack ended up passed out on the front lawn. Then when Archie and Max were toddlers, the downstairs toilet turned purple and couldn't be deleted or cleaned or anything. The other sims seemed to steer clear of it but Max kept playing in the evil toilet and I was forced to wall it up for fear of him becoming the next demon child... he's still got an evil look about him though, I think the damage was already done.
