Well...I'm getting into the PC game, Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War, played an hour or so last night, and oh boy how it brought back memories of High School, where I played Warhammer Fantasy a bunch, it's quite the good time. Anyone here dabbled in the tabletop version of 40K or any other miniature wargame?
I'd like to get back into it, slowly but surely, cause it sure is an investment. But if anyone around has tips, or even would like to get into it with me, let me know.

Warhammer
A friend of mine in high school played Warhammer 40K. I had no idea what the whole thing was, but it seemed pretty cool to me. My favorite things were the pewter soldiers that you could paint. He also had this tank that was awesome. I wanted to get into it, but then my friend told me how much all the stuff cost him, so I never got into it. Instead, I just collected the Decipher Star Wars CCG cards. I never figured out how to play that game either. I just like collecting them. It was awesome because in the first pack I ever bought, I got a Obi Wan Kenobi card that was worth like $45. Then this kid was all like jealous and he wanted to trade me for a Han Solo and C3PO, but I was like "sorry dude, no way." The new Star Wars CCG cards don't seem as cool to me. I'm not sure who makes them now, maybe Wizards of the Coast. I like the Decipher cards better, no nobody plays them anymore, so now you can buy like a box of them for like real cheap.
Hell hath no fury for a woman's scorn for Sega.

The most interesting thing about Games Workshop stuff is that you aren't limited by anything except your own skill and imagination. Of course, I also like going in there because I get instant attention
I've always thought it was more fun to play your own way and cobble together truly unique warriors and equipment... and landscapes ^_^ but you can also play 'straight out of the box' so to speak. Making things is half the fun!
