Re: Windows 7

Early on graphics drivers on Vista were a huge pain; if they weren't buggy they were much slower. Both of these problems have been remedied, and graphics performance on Vista should be equivalent to that on XP (benchmark confirmed). Also, Nvidia and ATI have both (finally) gone ahead and released ...

Re: Windows 7

If you're having compatibility issues it's your hardware vender's fault for not releasing new driver; that or you just have jesus old out of date hardware. Really, Windows 7 is remarkably stable; try it in a VM even if you're skeptical.

Re: Star Ocean: First Departure

No, really since March there's been like 3 new PSP games worth bothing with. There's literally been week after week lately where there are no PSP releases at all outside of Japan.

Re: Windows 7

Less. The amount of RAM required for Vista really wasn't bad; as long as you had a gig of ram or more you were pretty much fine. The amount you see used in the Task Manager is a little deceptive btw; it includes a large cache used to speed up hard drive I/O. There's also a lot of subtle user ...

Re: Windows 7

New taskbar (way huger than you might think), quieter more controllable system tray, new wordpad, paint, calc GUIs, UAC slider, tweaked Aero theme (retains transparency on fullscreen among other things), Aero peek, Aero shake, desktop peek, window tiling, libraries replace the normal Documents ...

Re: Star Ocean: First Departure

It's good, basically taking SO1 and making it a lot more like SO2, but not a must have unless you're desperate for PSP games.

Re: Fallout 3

Beat it a while ago; only one bug (a fairly minor freeze) in the completely unpatched 360 version. The ending wasn't really bad, just abrupt. I didn't even realize I was about to finish the game until I got to it. You can't even go back afterward and do more stuff; there's a point of no return that ...

Re: So how's MGS4?

I watched someone else play the whole thing. The story was an overwealming disappointment. I'm still really pissed Kojima ruined everything he set up in MGS2.

RSS enclosures so podcasts work with anything

Hey guys, haven't been here in a while

I'd like to subscribe to Naughty Bits on my podcast aggregator (non-iTunes), but none of the RSS or atom feeds have the audio file as an enclosure. Think you could add this feature?

Re: Problems when hooking 360 to monitor.

What you're talking about is gamma correction, and no 360 doesn't have this built in. However, the display settings in the farthest right blade offer some blackness level corrections that might help you out, and GTA4 (along with quite a few other games) has a brightness setting somewhere in the menu ...

Eh, point still stands; it's old cheese. I could probably list another dozen first-person games just off the top of my head where it's been done.

I distinctly remember being able to see feet in Halo 1.

Re: Because you guys asked for it....

I'm just saying that a PC that can run Crysis isn't exactly expensive... and if it's failing in Morrowind it's high time for an upgrade.
