“Halo 4” was jam packed, but I was able to get in and got to give multiplayer a try. It has changed a lot and yet it still feels like “Halo.” Old favorites like Ghosts and Warthogs return, but 343 is also putting in load out screens where you are able to customize five different classes and purchase more if you choose to do so, which changes gameplay immensely. The campaign is looking great too with more new and exciting enemies and weapons.
There are many new action-packed game modes to play, which include a new Infinity Slayer, Spartan Ops and Regicide. Spartan Ops is what I’m stoked to play. 343 promises that each week there will be new missions for this mode. These allow you to shape your character with new achievements and points that allow new unlockables and more. This time around Infinity slayer allows a different scoring and ordinates method where you don’t just score points for your team, you also score and earn rewards for yourself.
Last on the list was Regicide. In this game the person in first is “king” and while everyone is free-for-all. The king is most powerful and gets a better weapon choice, but on the other hand he sticks out like a sore thumb and everyone can see him on the map. It’s pretty much a variation on the VIP modes we’ve seen before, but it’s a lot of fun. Frankly I’m impressed, and I feel like this is the “Halo” I’ve been waiting for.
Out.
