The server is back up at its final location. EVERYTHING will be back to normal very soon. The only thing left is the actual BreakmanX.com domain name which will be active very soon. Not everything will work until then. But, I am very happy to have it up. More from me later. Until then use the forum and chat links below.
As many of you know we experienced an attack on our server a few weeks ago. To make a long story short, it has been complete hell for me to get all of this stuff back running. All the physical files, including the databases, had to be completely recovered. Luckily, I was able to back everything up. Some of the site data was unrecoverable, as you see here. I managed to recover most of it though. The forums are 100% where they were the second that they were hacked. So, that's some good news. There may be a few kinks, but please PM me in the forums and I will get them worked out.
You might be wondering why the site looks entirely different as well. Last summer the entire staff took on a project called "Neo." Neo just means new, and that was the focus of the site. Just to make a new design that would look beautiful. My plan was to incorporate some feel from the original site, and we ended up using that color scheme. There's also new features built in, such as the "friends" feature you will notice if you register and log in. Basically you can log in and make a profile for yourself and then add other BreakmanX people to your friends list. You can also upload an avatar which is then displayed in your comments you make on the front page and other places. I'll talk about more of these, and I'm sure you will find them too. We also have a completely new back end that we are using which is much more powerful than the one we were using before.
Also, there have been many content changes in the last month. I stopped the show, then started it back up. Where does it stand now? Well, I have so many things going on in my life right now that I simply cannot continue to do the show the way I was before. As I found out when I quit, though, it is too big a part of me to give it up completely. The show is officially on hiatus now, but I plan to host a show once a week. I'm going to try and let everyone know as soon as I can when that will be. I will do it live, and then upload the mp3. It will be solo sometimes, but I will incorporate as much of the BMX staff as I can. I will be in the chat channel and interact with everyone and try to take as many skype and phone calls as I can too. So, the show will live on, in a slightly different form until I have more time. The plan is that the show will return in its normal form sometime this summer.
As for the rest of the staff, many will stay involved. Richie is planning on making occasional posts here, and appearances in the show when time permits. He will most likely return to the official line up this summer. As he put it, the show will "show up again." Mecha is my constant adviser with the site, and I'm pretty sure he will work on it until he dies. Q is equally pationate about it and will continue to support the site in the podcast as well as many other regards.
Also, Gamers 3 is going to be made. It has grown into more of a feature, and less of a regular episode. For my own personal reasons, I need to have it done by August or so so it will be uploaded sometime around then. More information as it comes. I can tell you that Richie, Q, and Weezer have said they will work on it with me.
As it stands right now, I love this site and it is a huge part of me. I can't wait to jump back into the forums and hear everyone's opinions again. I look forward to broadcasting soon too.
