Lets start by taking care of some business.  The show might or might
not happen today.  As of right now, I'm leaning more toward the
possibility that it will.  I'll let you know, in this space, how I am
feeling in a few hours.  The reason for this tragedy of modern life is
mainly because I don't fit into the category bolded above this text.
Unfortunately I am not a super hero, and definitely don't have
Wolverine's healing factor.  Not even fucking Sabertooth's.  Thanks to
this unfair fact of life I was left open to certain ailments that have,
rudely, invaded my being and attacked my body.  Germs are gross.

Dismissing
the fact that show is a 75% possibility today, rather than the 100%
absolute you all are used to, you might be wondering why there is text
for you to read on this page.  I'm sure you've gotten used to the
routine of checking the site Wednesday evening/Thursday morning and
then perused the forums casually through the week.  Get ready to change
your surfing schedule.

Many changes are taking place at
BreakmanX.com.  The most obvious one will be here just as soon as I get
in the hardware to pull it off.  Said hardware is actually brand new so
we are waiting for it to be released from the company for us to
purchase.  The only date we have to go on is "October."  You might be
thinking, as I am, "hey it is October."  Apparently they meant any
second of October.  At any rate, one of these changes is happening a
little early.  FRONT PAGE POSTS ARE RETURNING!  You will see a new post
here every day, Monday – Friday.  I'm as excited as you are.  Besides
that, we'll be bringing you other written content like the standard
reviews and such, and also some more creative fair.  You'll also be
seeing the return of some much beloved series such as Gamers,
GameBreaker, and maybe even GameSavers.  The point of this whole
paragraph is that there is going to be more content more often.  I also
wanted to tell you that you look great because I don't think anyone's
mentioned that to you yet today.

There are a few other secret
new things that will be coming your way that I am really excited
about.  Some of them have even been in the works for years.  The only
problem about telling you is that I would have to kill you in whatever
your deepest, darkest fear happens to be.  If you'd like that to become
a reality simply learn how to talk to me telepathically.  It really is
much more reliable than the telephone.

All that said, I really
am excited about this website.  In fact, I haven't been this into it
since Richie and I started this "radio show" thing back in 2002.  I
love our staff, I love our projects, and I love the people we're making
all this for.  The goal of this whole revamp was to do BreakmanX
right.  All the ideas we've had over the years.. we're just going to go
ahead and do.  We're going to go full steam ahead and see what happens.

So, keep your eyes peeled.  It is a great time to be a gamer.
I'm playing more awesome games right now than I've played in years;
Okami, Gunstar Super Heroes, Okami, and Wow, the next-gen has started
and is going to heat up immensely in a month, and the site is more
active then ever.  Sometime, in October, you will gaze upon the page
and see some dramatic changes.  After that, we will gradually release
the rest of our content.  Until then, we will keep you enthralled with
our words.

BreakmanX (AKA Matthew Nyquist) founded BreakmanX.com in 2001 after having small video game websites since around 1996. Things really took off in September of 2002 when he started The Game Show with Richie. BreakmanX.com quickly developed a tight knit community of gamers as the crew covered major industry events and interviewed top industry talent. Break later went to the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts to get his MFA in Film and TV Production. He worked in Hollywood for seven years with people like Fred Roos (The Godfather Trilogy, Star Wars) and Dane Davis (The Matrix). He's now gone full circle and returned to Kansas to write and direct a feature film (EyesOpenMovie.com), relaunch The Game Show (BreakmanX.com), and spend his day time hours as an tenured Associate Professor.
