Did you know your Xbox 360 has an internal gyroscope?  No joke, it keeps track of when the ‘box is flat or upright so it can display the Ring of Light patterns correctly.  That way, the bottom right quadrant of Light stays the bottom right, so you can stay informed of an internal hardware failure regardless of orientation.
The more you fucking know.

Anyway, UPS stopped by today, left me a package:  One empty, plain, cardboard box.  As I signed, Brown man shook it lightly, like, “Who the hell would ship an empty box?”  Inside was a sheet of packing instructions, material, and a sticker of prepaid 3 Day Select postage, covering all 12 pounds of an Xbox 360.  One step closer to being up and Live again.
But not all is well in Richiedom; my hard drive’s death rattle worsens.  It was just a tap-tap here and there a week ago, but now it snaps and pops like a fat woman in a rocking chair any time you ask it to do anything.  Even scrolling my Winamp list is too much for it.  And that noise, it’s painful, kinda like nails on a chalkboard, or shifting into reverse and hearing the gears grind.  Makes you shiver and cringe.  Headphones don’t help; I can still feel the rattle through the keyboard when the HD really gets working.  Ugh.
So, tomorrow I’ll get my back-up drive in there and save all the important shit, i.e. music, schoolwork, pr0n, before it all goes up in a puff of smoke.

BreakmanX (AKA Matthew Nyquist) founded BreakmanX.com in 2001 after having small video game websites since around 1996. Things really took off in September of 2002 when he started The Game Show with Richie. BreakmanX.com quickly developed a tight knit community of gamers as the crew covered major industry events and interviewed top industry talent. Break later went to the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts to get his MFA in Film and TV Production. He worked in Hollywood for seven years with people like Fred Roos (The Godfather Trilogy, Star Wars) and Dane Davis (The Matrix). He's now gone full circle and returned to Kansas to write and direct a feature film (EyesOpenMovie.com), relaunch The Game Show (BreakmanX.com), and spend his day time hours as an tenured Associate Professor.
