December 20, 2011. A day which shall live in infamy. It’s the release date for Star Wars: The Old Republic, the highly-anticipated sequel to Wo… I mean, Star Wars MMORPG. Many nay-sayers claimed it would not be out this year, as EA proclaimed, and look at them now! Their faces in the dirt, covered in mud. Sure it’s the very end of the year, but beggars can’t be choosers. Unless they’re members of the Beggars’ Guild. And speaking of Guilds, we are proud to announce the formation of: The Padinga Alliance! Our very own Galactic Republic PvE-focus guild!…

YARRRR! Nippon Ichi be declarin’ war on yer free time this fall as they release a wee version of Disgaea for yer smartphones! What? It’s Talk Like a Pirate Day, get over it. I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for this. The major problem I have with huge tactical RPGs like Disgaea is that they take up so much of my gaming time… but if I can take all my shitter time and put that towards tacticizing, then that’s a win for everyone. Disgaea: Netherworld Unbound is set to release for Android this fall…

I could watch this shit all day. Capcom keeps dropping more and more info about Street Fighter X Tekken, and while it’s no secret that I despise Tekken with a passion unrelenting borne of the 11th layer of Hell (What makes you think there are only 9 levels? If any locale is inherently ‘turning it up to 11’, it’s Hell), I cannot help but get more and more excited with each information drip that comes through the CapcomUnity IV. Capcom seems to be making this more and more into a top-tier title for them, considering the amount of work going…

Let’s set the Wayback Machine to… well, 28 days ago. EVO 2011 had just finished, and we posted here on Padinga.com that an 8-year-old kid by the name of Noah had finished in the top 48 of the World Finals of Marvel vs. Capcom 3, no small feat for anyone of any age. Over the weekend, pro gaming team The Traveling Circus announced that they had signed 8-year-old Noah Solis to an endorsement deal with their team. This makes Noah one of the youngest people EVER to hold a legally binding sponsorship contract. And it turns out…

I loves me some Borderlands, yes I do. You may recall it was my GOTY the year it came out, back when no one else on the site knew what it was. Now they all own a copy. Such is the power of a damn good game. And of course, Borderlands 2 has been announced, and of course, it was present at PAX. But they weren’t content to just bring it. They fucking BROT’IT (add stereotypical horizontal head slide). Not only did Gearbox hand out FREE BORDERLANDS 2 FULL COPY REDEMPTION CODES to everyone who attended (damn…

We’re in a strange place, my friends. The world is getting smaller, and the advances of technology are granting the powers of communication to those who have not had them before. Last decade, the hotbuzz communication forums were YouTube and blogging in general (WordPress more or less triumphant over its fallen foes), but in the 2010s, there will be a new victor. I’m calling it right here, right now. The next form of communication is live streaming, and Padinga will be at the fore. Increasing bandwidth, ever-more-powerful personal computers, and the worldwide conglomeration of the gaming…

I know what you’re thinking. A year-plus-old game is now free on the App Store, whoop-dee-fucking-doo. Fact is, this is one of the highest rated games on the App Store, and it’s made by a major games publisher, which is a combination you NEVER see go FREE. The RAGE Facebook page recently hit 100,000 likes, and in celebration, Bethesda is offering RAGE HD for free for ONE WEEK ONE WEEK ONLY. RAGE HD is a tie-in to the upcoming RAGE, and is available for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. So go download it now. Now! What are…

Boy do I loves me some video games. And MvC has long been the series on the top of my list. So when ULTIMATE Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was announced as a new disc for another $40 price tag, I went through the 12 stages of grief pretty fast. Here’s some gameplay videos released by Capcom for Gamescom 2011 that will surely whet your appetite, featuring the newly announced (but already leaked) Doctor Strange and Nemesis.

It’s that time again! It’s the mooooost wonderful tiiiiime…. of the yeeeeeear! *AHEM* Sorry about that. But seriously. Look upon the rest of the post after the break and rejoice, for there is much new gaming to be had. There shall also be wailing and gnashing of teeth, but it shall only emanate henceforth from our collective wallets. And from the poor soul whose grandmother gives him Petz Puppiez and Kittenz for Christmas. What we have posted here is a calendar showing you all of the major releases and/or releases of relevant interest for the rest of the…

Alright, brace yourself, people. The following Oblivion machinima was created by one “theninjacowboy”, and it is ONE OF THE FUNNIEST GODDAMN THINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. Upon seeing it, I laughed so hard I nearly pissed myself, and then proceeded to question the nature of existence and all of our places in it. Then I laughed again. And then actually pissed myself. One of these things is a lie. I’m not saying which one. Tide yourself over as you wait for the incredible awesome rocking shit that will be Skyrim by watching this incredible video. Might want…

In response to flagging sales, Nintendo has announced overnight that the price of its main handheld console, the Nintendo 3DS will be dropping, and it’s dropping sharply. No exact price has been set for Europe yet, but is expected to be dropped by about a third of the price. Nintendo is sympathetic to the concerns of…

My apologies in advance to Andrew Allen for stealing his format and Mecha for writing an article that will surely piss him off, buuuuut it’s time once again for another edition of Talking to Games! Today we sit down with the latest sex puzzler to hit the market, Catherine. For those of you unfamiliar with the format, this segment is one where we have a one-on-one (intimate, if you will) conversation with a game, and really get to know it, as a person. Just… trust me on this, ok? Look, there’s more boobs after the break, how’s…

Every now and then a game gets re-released or dropped in price, something that makes one turn one’s head. At a time such as this, it’s difficult not to say: “Why yes, I’ll buy that. Thank you for offering.” Today, Sid Meier’s Pirates was re-released for the iPad. It is available for $3.99 until July 25th, after which the price raises to $6.99. I don’t know about you, but 4 bucks for one of the greatest pirate games of all time isn’t just a steal, it’s downright looting and pillaging. If you have an iPad and you’re not…

It’s coming. And it’s sooner than you think. No, I’m not talking about premature ejaculation. Get your mind out of the gutter, you sick fuck! I’m talking about the next generation of home game consoles. The rumor mill is working overtime lately on the upcoming systems, although most of the “unconfirmed” information is flying around about the Big M and the Big S. We haven’t seen a lot of word about Nintendo’s Wii U lately, and what we have seen has been facts, rather than speculation. But who cares about facts?! That’s no fun! We’re here for the rampant, unsolicited,…

So unless you’ve been living under a rock the past 10 days (and I know some of you have, I’m looking at you, Marcelo), you probably know there’s been a bitchin’ Steam Sale going on. Most of the games that can be found on Steam have been on sale, for at least 25% off, and some games have had epic one-day sales that drop them to prices that will never again be seen until they go into the bargain bin (or at least, until the next Steam Sale). I myself picked up quite a few games: Assassin’s Creed…

We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate… our Independence Day! And in doing so, we remember Brent Spiner, who tragically died on July 4th, 1996, when an alien he was dissecting regained consciousness and choked him to death with a tentacle, but not before raping his brain and using him as a glorified smoker’s voice box. Well, hang on… Am I getting things mixed up somewhere? I never can tell. Anyway, for all you Star Trek fans out…

First off, I should lead by saying that this game does not suck. It says something, really, that I have to state this outright. I mean, we’re dealing with multiple factors here: the legacy of “Transformers Revenge of the Fallen,” not to mention movie games in general. There’s the gaming industry’s past shenanigans with Transformers games in general, although the most recent “War for Cybertron” was a notable exception. And it is on that note that we discuss “Dark of the Moon,” which, you will be overjoyed to know, I’m sure, is made by the same people…

To call myself a Trekkie would be a sheer understatement; the term Trekologist more closely applies. Hell, I once ran a Star Trek Online podcast on this very site. With the exception of Enterprise (which is more of a war crime than anything), if it’s Trek, it is immediately absorbed in massive qualities directly into my bloodstream. When the J.J. Abrams reboot landed, I loved every minute of it and clambered for more. If you’re like me, at least in that regard, you’ll be able to get your fix with the newly-announced Star Trek game being developed by…

User Don Jaime asked us to cover The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and here’s what we found out. Bethesda gave us a 20 minute demo of Skyrim, running on the Xbox 360, and it is easily one of the most gorgeous games we’ve ever seen. Walking through the countryside, individual plants dot the hillsides, single ferns fully rendered with their own shadows falling upon the rocky landscape. These are not textures or some paint-bucket kind of detail additive; each object is individually placed. The only large-scale exception to this is snow, which Bethesda tells us is something that is not…

Today is May 25, and guess what? It’s Geek Pride Day! Never mind that it sounds like it was drafted by the LGBT movement. Today is the day in which geeks around the world are encouraged to take pride in who they are, and to not be ashamed of that which makes them homo superior. Hmm, something about that doesn’t sound quite right. So go out in public with your geekiest t-shirt, hell, go out in public IN COSTUME. Really, Sony? REALLY?? Multiple sites are reporting that Sony has suffered yet ANOTHER compromise. The new password reset system that Sony erected after bringing PSN back up from its historical multi-million-account compromise has already been… well, compromised. Oh, and it just so happens that’s EXACTLY the type of information that was compromised in the original hack. The good news is that Sony has already taken the page down and is…
