Anna checks in after day two at E3Expo 2013. Today consisted more of standing in lines to play games, but I managed to play every game I wanted to at the Nintendo booth, as well as check out my most anticipated indie game, Transistor. Tomorrow will be more waiting in lines, hopefully for Driveclub and anything else that I absolutely must play. Enjoy my ramblings!

This will be my first attendance at the highly anticipated E3 Expo 2013. I have a lot on my list, probably too ambitious for a first-timer, but I’m sure I’ll learn what works and what doesn’t as I go…it’s all about experience, and experience is the only teacher. If you are curious about my “agenda”, here is what I have in mind: 1. Report what it is like to attend E3. 2. Record an evening vlog of that day’s experience and upload to YouTube via iPhone. 3. Check out my highly anticipated indie games. 4. Check out next gen console…

When I fired up Hotline Miami (PC) for a late night stream, I only knew to expect excellent music, for my ears were graced with two tracks at a local game shop early that day. My eyes were pleasantly assaulted over the next hour or so with neon bloodied walls, baddies heads vomited upon, and thumping music in a fucked up 16bit universe. If that doesn’t grab your attention, I don’t know what will. The story laid out in the beginning is a bit hazy, even your character doesn’t know what the hell is going on. All he knows is…

I am late to the Journey party, I know, but that hasn’t detracted from my experience. I picked up the Journey Collector’s Edition so I would have Thatgamecompany’s complete works on one disc, and I was not disappointed. My curiosity was peaked when I heard Journey’s soundtrack was the first video game nominated for a Grammy, this is huge! As a huge music lover, I knew that no matter how I felt about the game, that this was going to be something special. Journey – This is a game that is hard to put into words because there are no…

In general I am a big fan of the Lego games; I nearly own them all and I always look forward to how they will improve their next title. With the Wii U starving for new games, there is no risk buying Lego City Undercover, especially at the $49.99 price point, but let me tell you why you shouldn’t pass this game up. The opening cinematic immediately grabs your attention, panning around various parts of Lego City and as always is dabbled with what I call “Lego Humor” (this time the humor is puns and pop culture references). The player…

I recently completed Tomb Raider (XBOX 360), and I couldn’t have enjoyed my experience more. I have played a couple Tomb Raider games in the past on the PlayStation One and Dreamcast, but I was late to the crowd and wasn’t really in love with the games as much as I was with the idea/concept of it. I think SquareEnix picked an excellent time to reboot the series, and I will be anticipating future Tomb Raider games. But what makes this game worth getting? If the beginning cinematics don’t captivate your attention, I don’t know what will. The story is…

I have always been a fan of the Lego games, even if it did take a few games to revise the co-op for playability without killing the person next to you. At the end of last year, we saw a new direction with Lego: Lord of the Rings; an open world concept with side missions. Being able to run around and explore was fantastic, especially in the Lord of the Rings universe. The addition of voices (first appearing in Lego Batman 2) is a bit more engaging, however I kind of miss the Lego humor of grunts and chuckles. That…
