Clans

Post by Yankee »

Hey do any of you guys belong to any gaming clans? If so what is the name of your clan and what game do you guys play? I'm sort of interested in joining one for BF42, Vietnam or Soldner as I am getting tired of running toward a helicopter only to have it blown apart by my teammates rocket launcher moments before I reach it.

Also since I've never played in a clan before for those of you who have... Positives? Negatives?

And if none of us are in a Clan.. let's start a one for BreakmanX and give everyone else the what-for!

I think we should start our own, we all know we rock, and having a [BMX]Afrotect handle would r0x0r.

yes oh yes

Yes, the problem is logistics though. I'm not quite sure there are enough of us to have a clan, even if you add all of us up, I don't think we all play the same games. So sad... but hey if anyone else is up for a BF clan hit me up, we'll get 'er rollin'.

A BF clan would rock, but the only serious players I know of on here are you, me, and Realm, and that wouldn't make much of a clan :( .

I've been in clans in MMO's, but never FPS's. Even if we didn't have enough people for a clan, we could still have some sort of alliance or union. Ya, and I haven't actually played BF in more than a week. I got bitten by the CS bug. :)
I have spoken.

Hmm, well that's 4. Not much of a clan indeed. How 'bout this... is there any time you guys usually play? Maybe we could just set something up play on the same server. Friday night or anytime Sunday works for me. The Desert Combat patch 0.7 should be out on Friday as well.

Actually, I think a BMX clan is a great idea, but here's the thing. We shouldn't just limit it to one or two games. The amount of listeners/sitegoers we have is large enough I think we could just have an all-inclusive "team" which includes all games, even console games. We could take the team to compete against other clans at tournaments and such, maybe even go so far as to have invitationals where we visit other teams or invite them here to compete (like at AdrenaLAN or NVGL). Games of note to compete on would be Halo (Xbox and PC), SSMB, BF, UT2K3, SC2, various sports games, and maybe even old school shit like Goldeneye or Bomberman.

You know I'm down. We might even be able to get a page on the website dedicated to the game clan where we could set up a calendar of nights and what we'll be playing, etc. Afro, I'm looking in your direction there. A dedicated game server would also be pretty easy to set up, with different games on a rotating schedule, depending on the day... UT night, BF night, Halo etc. The big question is.. who has an extra computer lying around? (Or just turn my desk computer at the office into one Afro... ;) )

I have a Mac G3 lying around that's not being used... Oh wait. That's USELESS.

[EDIT]: Wow, my 500th post was a mac slam. Who'da thunk it?

You could always use it, you could melt it down and make it a 20 pound paperweight. Oh wait it already is that. Ummm... you could always... kick it? I guess.. yeah that would work.

I don't think anything but a Mac slam would be appropriate for a 500th post. Or maybe a flame where you call everyone on the boards a stupid n00b. That would have also been acceptable.

Who are you? Oh wait, I mean, think different.

Hey, give me that G3 if you're not going to use it.
