Hail to 117 (HALO Fan music)

So I may be able to talk with Marty O'Donnell at Bungie (cross your fingers). Inspired by the awesome main melody behind Halo, I wrote a calm-to-rock version of the main anthem. Why would I want to talk to Marty? Just to see what he says about it. I admire his melody writing quite a bit. It would just be cool to get his feedback.
Regardless, before I drone on...here is a 2min sample of how it's going so far. I haven't added the strings yet or lengthened it out to the 5 minutes it will be, but it will let you see where I am going with it.
I wanted to write something I could game to, in an app like Halo...

Coming from a music composition major, I have to say very sweet shit. I love how you've taken the melody and worked around it and with it to make something completely different. Very very nice. My only suggestion would be maybe running that voice track through a chorus filter so it sounds like there's more than one voice, kind of like on the game. T'would make it even more sweetass.

Wow dude, this is awesome. I've always liked Halo's music, and its cool to hear something new. I'm not a musician, but I definitely like what I hear.

Cool
...yeah I recorded two separate vocal tracks and panned one left and one right for a manual chorus effect, but yeah, it sounds like one full voice. I'll tweak mess around with some chorus effects ( I have a buttload) and see what I can come up with.

Thanks guys.
I guess another questions is...can you see this style fitting in a Halo game...Especially if I add the orchestra parts? (which will be in the final version)...or is it too much of a departure?
I was trying to write a style that I would enjoy playing to. But it's hard since Halo's music spans a few regions...tribal, choral, rock, etc.

...are you serious? Wow, that would cut my workload in half. I could use my Msoft contacts to get to them but hey if you know him directly that'd be cool.

Sounds pretty cool...good work on it, man...
It's a lot better than your actual Halo skillz.
I kid, I kid....

Hmm...I seem to remember us getting almost the same amount of kills in team slayer when your friend Cryo wasn't on your team. Cryo is a masta I must say.
My problem is I never spent too much time perfecting head shots with the pistol, which is arguably the most powerful weapon. I hardly got killed with anything but.
We'll have to play 1v1 at some point...I am sure you'll still win ...but probably not by as much as you think

That is one amazing song - I really like the section at 0:59 when the heavy guitar part comes in.
