If you haven't already, you should read the latest Penny Arcade.

Ironically I just got off of work (GameStop), and I played Sonic Heroes during my shift, only to get home and read Penny Arcade's recent comic/newspost about the game.

I must say that the way Gabe described it is right on: "Remember that scene in the Bourne Identity where Matt Damon is running up the stairs in the US embassy and there is that dude at the top and Matt sucker punches him square in the stones? That’s what Sonic Heroes is like. It’s a hard jab right to your Chao farm."

Having played Sonic and Sonic 2 on Sega Genesis, I had grown accustomed to its 2D sidescroller greatness. The minute I picked up Sonic Adventure for the DC I hated it. I even gave Sonic Adventure 2 a try, and hated it. I don't know why, but Sonic just never worked as a platformer for me. And after playing Sonic Heroes tonight, my views are reaffirmed.
