It was never held back. There was never a firm release date, in fact, there still isn't. As of right now, it's still "When it's done."

As I recall, the initial announcement was late 2003. So yes, Jack, it was pushed back, as it is no longer 2003. But in all fairness, they have not set a strict date to miss... just a general one. Heh, kind of like Mechwarrior online content, ne?

No, Rurouni, they NEVER gave a date. Look at the official Bungie Halo 2 FAQ on halo.bungie.net. They never gave a release date. It was always, "WID".

The reson they pushed it back was to fuck with us. Everyone knows the game is finished and that the game producers at Bungie are hiding Halo2 in a warehouse somewhere.

Yep, you're right. They really really just want to hold off on making any money for few more months, just to fuck up their fanbase. They truly don't give a shit about the game or the customer, Halo 2 is just a big practical joke to them.
