violence in cartoons

Post by the fuzzy panda »

as i have been out of school for the last couple of days, ive been noticing that the new generation of kids are getting screwed out of the violence that lead us to become well nothing yet, but still it seems as though when some one has a gun they fire everywhere else but their target, what led me to this rant were the new transformers, i mean holly shit not only did they fuck up the story but the action as well, cause THERE IS NONE, i mean should'nt people be worrying about how to make money instead if stay at home mom with a mid life crisis has to think, shit dude its just not right, this is why democracy is bullshit because the wants of the important out weigh the needs of the few, and the wants of the important influence the views of the stupid. that is all

I highly doubt that violence is becoming politcally correct. Look at all the shit over the Iraq war. And personally, if someone calls me a retard I'm still offended, and usually fire back with, "FAG!" Lol. Namecalling never matures. :D

I think that too many people worry about being politically correct. Personally, what does it matter what you call something? It's still the same? Whether we call the Iraq war a righteous war protected by god or an international attrition, it doesn't matter because the same thing is sitll happening. I wish people would stop labelling stuff and just look at the situation.

Oh I think the violence for kids today is still there, it's just in a different form. When I was a kid I can remember watching G.I. Joe, He-Man, Thundercats, Voltron, Transformers, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles just to name a few. There was all the violence you could ever want, but you never saw anyone die, no blood, no guts. Even the video games I had back then, when you hit someone with a sword, there was a flash, they fell to the ground and blinked out of existence.

Today, the kids get all the violence they can handle with games like Manhunt. I have seen some of the cartoons today and really there are a lot of them that I don't even get. I feel like my freakin' dad. I'm sitting there going..."Dude I have no fucking idea what is going on." Meanwhile if you go through the toy isle you see Bratz and other toys trying to teach our kids that violence is out. Sex is in. Don't kill someone, but be a whore.

I think the problem lies in censorship. People should stop thinking it is society's right to protect "the children" and that it's a teacher's responsibility to dicipline. People need to buck the fuck up and be parents. Tell your kids no. Turn off the tv. Screen movies and games before your kids see them. Dicipline them yourselves and stop blaming your shortcomings as a parent on violence in cartoons and games. Spank your kids when they are bad. Don't make idle threats that you never make good on. Don't talk to your child in baby talk. Stop trying to blackmail your children. Grow the fuck up yourself.

Sorry... I'll get off the soapbox.

Dude, get on a soapbox anytime you feel like it. I totally agree with you.

[soapbox]
I think one of the problems is that so many parents don't actually LIKE their kids or CARE what they turn out like. Or maybe they care, but they don't want to go through any trouble or bother. A lot of kids are just accidents anyway, if you know what I mean. We can rant and rave about this stuff being the parents' responsibility (which it is), but when the parents themselves are idiots I don't think there's any hope. Unless the kid has a mentor or another influence, they're fucked. It's kind of depressing sometimes. So ya, teachers and pastors and people like that should be mentors, but there's no replacement for a parent or two with some common sense. [/soapbox]

It's true, there's so much more than video games I could point to and say that's why society is going to hell. They now sell thongs and lacy, sexy underwear for little kids. As in starting at the ages of 4-5. I can't blame video games for that. Well I could, but it'd be a very weak linkage.

that reminds me, i found the nude raider hack. its still there. and not to mention the numours games dedicated to sexual contact, and gratituos nudity.

my take on this? well, this history repeating itself, the witch burnings are getting closer, i'll lock myself in a bunker with a shotgun, a sprig of rosemary, and every blasiphimas book and video game known to man.
