TSO

As most readers of BMX are avid readers of Penny Arcade, I assume you've all read up on the TSO stuff they posted Monday. Last year the dude next door got me to try out the beta, and I played it for a week, that was until I realized it was like any other MMO, and quickly stopped playing

To see the game still thriving or that it still exists was an instant shock to me. I thought the game had dissapeared off the map along with so many other failed MMO's. Not only is it thriving, it has picked up every naughty aspect of any MMO or Text-Based RPG ever. Whore-houses? Cybercash to Real dough? What is the world coming to when the line between reality and fantasy is blurred to the extent where you pay real money for fake money (sorta like Div says).

When I was brought up I played a lot of games, but I was always taught not to blur the line between my real life and gaming life. I am not saying that the people who recieve the cash are blurring the line. I am talking about the people paying for things like that. Not to sound too conservative, but what type of... (I hate to use the word freaks because it's very mean and I don't want to generalize to much but...) freaks role-play like that. I mean, there is probably some valid explanation for most people, but imagine how many pedophiles are out there. How many married 30 somethings.

Like I said, I don't want be too conservative, but something about that whole situation strikes the wrong chord with me.
