Halo Issues!!!

Okay, we tried to set up for a LAN deathmatch a couple times with two different Xbox's. My xbox would never recognize or find the other game. After our third try, we found out that it wasn't my xbox, it was my copy of Halo. Every Xbox they put it in, wouldn't find the other game. How is it that I end up with a faulty copy of Halo? How do i go about trading it in for a good one? Can I just take it to Wal Mart w/no reciept and exchange for a new one?
Jack, have you heard of Halo games that have this little error in them?

YO! Has anyone ever heard of this? I don't even know how my friend heard about it, but he said it was my disk, not my system. In fact, that was a brand new xbox I was using. It connects fine to Xbox live. That's probably why I couldn't play on Xboxconnect or gamespy! For real, you guys are the informed gamers, what have you heard about this?

I have heard that the GOTY edition doesn't always connect well with the older edition of Halo. . . but I can not confirm this. Also, I have heard that boiling the disk can help with things, although I have never wanted to try such a thing with such an expensive disk. . . maybe try it on a demo disk first that doesn't work well, then maybe try it on the Halo disk.

Yup, just what Grundy says. The GOTY edition sometimes has issues connecting with the older ones...they changed a tiny bit of the code or something. Nothing major, but on some system link games it screws up.

AFAIK there should be nothing different about the GOTY edition code-wise. I'll double-check with the test dept and see if they know of any issues.
