Top 5 Favorite Games

On the show this week, everyone talked about thier favorite games. I would like to know what everyone's top 5 favorite games are. I know this is a pretty hard thing to do, but try and keep it down to 5 and don't list anything like a series of a game (ex. the Zelda series), try and list single games. Try not to list games that included more than one game (ex. Mario All Stars, Sega Smash Pack), instead list the single game and which version it was. They can be any type of video game including: computer games, console games, arcade games, handheld games, etc. They can also be anything from old school to new school. Here's my not-so-permanent list...oh and it's not in any particular order...
Gunstar Heroes (Sega Genesis version)
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past (Super Nintendo version or maybe GBA verson, I'm not sure yet)
Super Mario Bros. 3 (Mario All Stars Version or maybe GBA version, I'm not sure yet)
The New Tetris (N64 version not be to confused with the inferior The Next Tetris)
Chrono Trigger (Super Nintendo version or maybe PS1 version from Final Fantasy Chronicles, I'm not sure yet)
Ok, well, that's all I can think of for now. My list is always subject to change.

Simple:
5. Starcraft/Broodwar (Broodwar if I can only choose one
)
Not in the history of video games has a game taken so much time away from my life. This was the first game I ever got so hardcore in, I started thinking about it in my sleep. Build series, pushing time as fast as possible, not a moment to lose. Yeah, I was a loser
4. Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time
What kind of gamer would I be if this wasn't on my list. Very fun game, interesting puzzles and very challanging. I loved the music, and Epona was fun to just ride around on and shoot ghosts. I played it 3 days straight after I got it, no matter what was going on in the world.
3. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Might not have the best story, or the best artwork, or the best play control. But this is a game where I can just load it up and play for a while and have fun without having to worry about getting to much into a game. It's a great escape from the tedium of college life and yet doesn't make you feel like you are totally wasting your time on a lengthy game
2. Final Fantasy 6
The best RPG in my mind. I loved the story, I loved the characters. I loved the game to death. Probably has taken over 500 hours away from my life. I remember writing to Nintendo about how much I loved the game.
1. Final Fantasy X
Okay, I lied this is the best RPG ever. I really didn't want to give it away above. Everything I loved about 6, it improved upon. The story made me feel connected with the characters. The artwork was visually tasty for my eyeballs. I truely loved this game, the music, the story, man... I am such a square fanboy.
Yes this list seems to be an oddball sort of list, and on any day it might change. I could soooo easily add Xenogears somewhere on that list, or the huge amount of PC games I play. I just tried to get a nice variety of games that peak my interest.

5. Virtua Fighter Evolution
Words can't describe just how deep this game is.
4. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
This is the type of game I've always wanted, where I have the freedom to do my own thing. Can't wait for part 5.
3. (tie)TMNT Arcade/X Men Arcade
Konami really showed their talent with these 2, the ultimate beat em ups to ever be released in arcades. MAME was invented to relive these games!
2. Splinter Cell
Awesome game that still holds up as the benchmark for what the Xbox can do graphically.
1. King of Colosseum
the ultimate wrestling video game, combines Fire Pro style gameplay with 3d graphics and simulation aspects in a year long season.

5) Maximum Carnage and X-Men 2:Clone Saga on Sega
I loved them, so what, kiss my ass.
I wish i could find a ROM for my computer to play them, but my efforts so far has been fo naught.
4) Halo on Xbox(The PC version sucks a fat one....only becouse of lag though)
Just becouse i spend so much time playing this game in multiplayer.(still never been thru campagin)
3) Lunar: the Silver Star Story; Lunar: Eternal Blue
I need to play these again...or maybe they need to remake them so i can stare at more than 6 Pixels for 60 hours.
2)Resident Evil(that remake on gamcube) followed by the rest of the series in the order of 2(plain old classic), Code Veronica(twiztid in a new way), 1(original), 3:Nemesis(Really fun one), Dead Aim(its like a B-level movie, but a quick fix of RE), Gun Survivor(you probably never heard of this one) and last and least, Zero (i didn't enjoy this one at all.)
The remake of resident evil one was a masterpeice to me. but thos goddamn notches on that goddamn controller nearly ruined it.
1)Final Fantasy 7...what else could there be?
My first PS1 video game becouse my mom didn't want me to get Resident Evil 1(i got it the following cristmas i belive). I half of a summer in my room with this game, then i bought a memory card and knocked it out in 2 weeks. After getting all the way to the neblehiem mansion and being killed by floating pumpkins only to return to run away from them all and get killed by the boss in the VERY next room, you really understand the value of a memory card as apposed to just turning off the TV.
And the order of great ness on the scale of 1-100 for final fantasys is....
100-Vii (nostalgic value)
95-X (Awesome game; i can't wait for X-2)
90-Viii(i really enjoyed this game and i think it is another masterpeice)
75-Vi If I had played this when it came out it would probably be a 95, but i played the re-release on PS1...so the graphics bring it down some. BUt it was a great game to play and i really enjoyed it.....a remake would be in order.
50- V More like 40, but i quit 75% of the way thru becouse i wasn't digging it.
45- iX Total crap, i really wanted to like this one, but the un-relate-to-able characters, mixed with a battle system that pissed me off, and a very unsatisfying story kinda ruined the good package on a whole. It look really nice though. I think not beingable to exlpore the world near the end of the game kinda blew.
I never played any other Final fantasys, i always ment to try tactics though.

not a problem, just doing my part to keep the games rolling. I need to go back and beat SpiderMan/Xmen. that game is hard and had arguably the best SNES soundtrack, but that's another thread, hehe

That's a toughie. How does one decide on favorite? I am just going to list my top 5 games based on amount of playing time I spent on them. Because uh... I wouldn't keep playing over and over if I didn't like them right?
5. 007 Goldeneye
Everyone played it, which is what made it so much fun. Countless hours my friends and I in my basement getting it on. Wait... that sounds bad. Basically it was cool because it was multiplayer but we were all there having a good time. Oh well.. I tried. Anyway I put this sounds like the back of a porno. You guys get the idea.
4. Super Mario Kart
Anyone who didn't love this game is a dirty Communist.
3. Street Fighter 2
I swear to God E. Honda is the best character in this game and in my prime, I could have proven this fact.
2. Age of Empires: The Age of Kings
This game's expansion pack was the reason I received my one and only speeding ticket. I was on my way to the post office because "The Conquerors" had arrived. I still am a big fan of this series, but AOK is my favorite thus far.
1. Battlefield 1942
I play this constantly. I would say uhhhhh.. yeah, every day. This game with the expansions is honestly my favorite game of all time. The single player mode sucks, but the game more than makes up for it in multiplayer. The mod work that fans have done for this game is also phenomenal. I think more people play Desert Combat than regular BF42 itself. Forgotten Hope is the mod I have been spending all my time with as of late. You can catch me on the WolfGaming server. It's basically the only FH server that has anyone playing.
My top 5

Final Fantasy 4
Tetris
Diablo II / Lord of Destruction
Unreal Tournament
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
And you can all suck it if you say FF6 is better than 4. (spoiler) He fights HIMSELF to become a motherfu(|<1n6 paladin! HOW AWESOME!? And the land of the summons!?!?! OMFG THE BEST FF EVER!
