Movie was pretty good throughout until the last stretch where he was going to ultimately fight Deadpool and kick his ass.
It was when Deadpool opened the bigass doors to the room Wolverine and them was standing in that I noticed something...Deadpool...wasn't funny...nor was he Deadpool...
Let me see if I got this right. Deadpool, who, in the comics, was basically a ninja badass, who had bigass samurai swords, and was a funny ass comedian who often broke the 4th wall and said things directly to the audience.
Now, we get the movie...and Deadpool is basically Frankenstein's monster. He's not funny in his actions, and he would have PROBABLY been funny in his words, had he not had his mouth SEWN SHUT! It was like the director said "But he still has the potential to be funny like the old Deadpool with witty comments! We'll fix that!" And so, Deadpool goes from awesome to lame ass throwaway supervillain #5375873
What really gets me is that, in the beginning of the movie, we see the ORIGINAL Deadpool, Wade, being as comedic as ever, and chopping up bullets with his two swords. Was that their way of saying "Hey, it's Deadpool!...nah, we're just fuckin with ya! He'll never be back! Fooled you, didn't we?"
I usually never gripe about this stuff, but Deadpool is my favorite Marvel character of all time, simply because he's not a serious asshole, and he can take just about any situation and say something smartass and witty. The fact that they completely killed the character pisses me off.
Other than that, it WAS a great movie, even if some characters were presented as people you should give a shit about when they were only present for 10 minutes out of the whole movie.
Also, the reason I put "stay after the credits" in the title was simply because there are a few extra scenes, and it's not exactly spoilers unless I tell what those scenes are, but since this is the spoiler SECTION..
After Credits Spoilers::
I think...Deadpool MIGHT return to his former self, just very disfigured, and HOPEFULLY without the fucking katanas in his arms and without the powers of God in a box. I'm assuming he was breaking the fourth wall when he said "Shhhhh" but it could have just been his way of looking intimidating while laying there with his head a couple inches away from his neck.

I thought Ryan was pretty good, actually. It seemed odd to me that with some things it felt that they were really trying to be true to the comics, but then with so many other things it was completely off. The Deadpool stuff confused me as well. Was cool to see Gambit, but again why no cajun accent?
I dunno, I could nitpick all day, but in the end I enjoyed the movie and am glad I saw it. X-Men has jumped out of the comic books and become something else entirely.

Q made similar complaints after we saw it on Monday.
Gambit was interesting, I hope they bring him back if they do another movie. I suspect that they made the accent so mild because they were worried that people wouldn't be able to understand it - I've seen a lot of American TV where they subtitle very clear English accents! It was a shame though. On the plus side he was HOT and kicked ass. He's always been my favourite character. Although it seems unlikely they will do the whole Rogue / Gambit love affair.
I know they made a lot of changes but I think most of them worked better for movie purposes. It was a bit action movie cheesy in places, but I thought that was quite funny really.
The Deadpool situation seemed a bit weak though... unless that was a clone of Wade that we saw get killed, and perhaps Wade is still out there.
Overall I had a good time watching it.

So apparently there are multiple post-credit endings. We got the one with Logan sitting in a Japanese bar, pretty blah. I would have much preferred to see the Deadpool headless one!

But that's like Storm, without the African accent. Try to stay true to the character.
I've heard no words about the guy who played Stryker. Was he any good, or should they just have CG'ed Bryan Cox?

I thought the movie was pretty weak, but that's a fanboy talkin'.
Deadpool was bland, then he was neutered.
Gambit is a random accentless helpful guy.
*Sigh*
They should've had this guy write the script:

Gambit's accent was the best reason to watch the old Xmen cartoons. They could have trained him to do the accent. I guess it's too much work for the "actors"(Berry, Taylor) to get into the role, the characters now are acting like the actors instead.
