Resident Evil

I just found an old script that was produced for the first Resident Evil movie. The cool thing is, it's written by the master of zombie film makers...George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Dead of the Dead). When I first heard about the Resident Evil movie, I knew that George A. Romero did some work on it and for one reason or another, left. The project was then taken over by Paul WS Anderson (Event Horizon and Mortal Kombat). I found the results to be entertaining, but ultimately, disapointing. The storyline of the movie resembled almost nothing of the game. Plus, there were some really cheesy action sequences that felt out of place in what was supposed to be a zombie movie. I'm now skimming through what was the first draft of George Romero's script and it looks awesome. The characters from the games are all there. Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Wesker, Rebecca Chambers, and even Tyrant. Hollywod makes so many poor decisions when it comes to video game movies. But after looking through this script, this could have been a great one. I've seen the teaser for Resident Evil: Apocalypse, and it looks interesting, but I doubt it will be much better than the first one, and even that one wasn't very good. Instead, I like to think of 28 Days Later as what the Resident Evil movie could have been. Paul WS Anderson is also directing the new Alien VS Predator movie. He better not screw it up. Mortal Kombat was decent, Event Horizon was messed up, but actually pretty well made, but I was throughly disapointed with his Resident Evil. Anyways, here's the script...
