Dunno if anyone saw this. It's fairly old, but I haven't heard much actual discussion going over this topic so I decided to bring it up somewhere.
So I'm sure most of you know Madworld is being noted for its extreme violence. Well, parents also noticed this, and, for whatever reason, they're horrified, not at its release, but rather the fact that it's releasing exclusively on the Wii, and it's all because of the "family friendly" image that the Wii.
In addition to this, the game will not be sold in Germany, and it's still awaiting confirmation on whether or not it can be sold in Japan due to its violence. I personally find all this quite ridiculous. I mean, first off, it's a fucking game. Second, there's TONS of more violent and realistic-looking violence in the media today. Third, there's already a load of games on the Wii that are littered with violence. Maybe not to this extent, but there are games that come quite close out there, such as No More Heroes, which is just blood pouring everywhere once you get into the fighting scenes. I mean you can literally spray so much blood while fighting in that game that you can't see what the fuck you're even doing for a few seconds.
Sorry about my little tirade. I'm just pissed off that people are so selective of what they choose to attack. All these fucking worried parents are so hypocritical and whiny, it's ridiculous. Some of their kids are more mature than them. Especially since a lot of the kids are apparently able to differentiate between a GAME and REAL LIFE, which is more than parents seem to be able to distinguish.
