RIP Elliott Smith

What the hell is going on!? Why are so many muscians dying so frequently these days? Elliott Smith has been one of my very favorite musicians of recent. In fact I was listening to his last night. Elliott Smith has been a part of the band Heatmiser, but probably most well know for his solo career as, well...Elliott Smith. His music was deeply personal, very emotional, and sometimes, even depressing, but it was always incredible and wonderful. Some of you might know Elliott Smith for his Academy Award nominated song for Good Will Hunting, the song called Miss Misery. He's also had songs appear in the films Keeping The Faith, American Beauty, and The Royal Tenenbaums. He was a very talented musician that has been very influential in terms of indie music and even some mainstream. If you know of Elliott Smith, then celebrate his life and his wonderful music and mourn his death. If you don't know of Elliott Smith, then find out about him.
This sucks. He's was in the middle of making a new album which I was very much looking forward to hearing. I've never gotten the chance to see him play live, and now I never will.
According to reports, his death is an apparent suicide.

Goodbye Elliott. You will surely be missed. If you'll now excuse me, I will be listening to Elliott Smith for the rest of the day and probably for the next few weeks.
