Not that anyone else cares but...
Star Trek Online has been picked up and confirmed by Cryptic Studios!!
I was so worried when Perpetual went under (an ironic name, I suppose) that the project died completely. Can't wait to make a Starfleet Klingon.

Oh yeah? Well I'm gonna make a human that serves the Klingon Empire. How dya' like THEM apples?
I hope it's actually GOOD. So many MMO's are just soulless money vacuums.

Now that you mention it V-man, There's this particular MMO I tried out titled "Atlantica Online". I know it doesn't sound like much. The catch with this one is that the combat is turn based (Final Fantasy). The combat system definitely beats the played out formula of typical MMORPG's, and I sure as hell think it beats WoW's system. but the game is in no way perfect. It's still a huge step in the right direction, Which is ironic because JRPG's are losing their flare these days. The quests are still typical MMO fare (tedious quests where you kill X amount of X monster and return to NPC). Once they can sort of move past that formula and come up with new ideas I think MMO's will finally evolve into something more than just Korean money vacuums/suck funnels. But it's FINALLY something new instead of the usual "Click this monster, wait for results" deal.

By my understanding, the game takes place 20 years after Nemesis and the Klingon Empire is now a part of the Federation thanks to the efforts of Tom and B'Elanna Paris' daughter.
And it's being done by Cryptic, who has a pretty good track record. Sure, the City of Heroes character creator was more fun than the actual game itself, but CoH did keep me entertained for a long time.
