Problems when hooking 360 to monitor.

Ok, my monitor is in its dying years, which means, it's getting dim.

I've resolved this for my desktop by messing with the video card settings. It looks as good as new when I'm using it with my desktop, but when I hook my 360 up to my monitor to play in HD, I seem to have a hard time seeing anything.

Is there a way to keep my monitor bright even when I hook my 360 up to it? It's hard as hell to play GTA4 sometimes in standard def.

What you're talking about is gamma correction, and no 360 doesn't have this built in. However, the display settings in the farthest right blade offer some blackness level corrections that might help you out, and GTA4 (along with quite a few other games) has a brightness setting somewhere in the menu.

Also, I found playing GTA4 in 1080i HD on a 42 inch television to be harder than playing it on a normal television. It being widescreen was nice, but every time something came in on the cell phone I had to leap forward like 8 feet in order to read it.

Yeah, in-game brightness correction saved my ass.

Playing Dark Sector now, and I'm just now playing games in High-Def ^.^
