Been playing a lot of SHMUP's lately. Which format do you prefer?

Have you played Radiant Silvergun and Musha Aleste? Two of my favorites.

I believe i've played Radiant silvergun a couple times a while ago. As for MUSHA, the cartridge won't work. I've been hording R-type 3 today though.

It's funny, I don't really prefer one or the other, but most of my favorites (Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga, Tyrian, Raiden) happen to be vertical.

I'm pleased that you liked Radiant Silvergun so much from when I showed it to you the other week. I can't wait to play it with people on Saturday.

As for SHMUPS, the good ones are some of my favorite games. Very well thought out stragedy.

Shoot-em-ups just give me headaches... the last time I saw one in was as a mini-game in Ratchet 3, I just turned of my PS2 and haven't touched that game since.

That mini-game was more like a half-assed beat/shoot em up. I don't blame you for hating it, but turning off Ratchet 3 just because of that shortass game? Fuxed in the head, man.

Oh yeah, I love them both alot, I tend to like vertical shooters a bit more for some reason though. But I'm really enjoying R-type 3 and UN squadron, which is tough as fuck.

I'm glad you liked Radiant Silvergun so much from when I showed you the other day. A good SHMUp is prolly one of my favorite games to play. They have an incredibly sense of style and the strategy required to play one well is just astounding.

I don't get to play many SHMUps very much ...which is sad...because they are good...

A lot of them are incredibly hard to play too @_@

Yes, Vamp. That IS illogical. If I stopped playing a game every time it had a shitty mini-game in it, then I can safely say I would've quit playing Bully 15 minutes into it.

I did stop playing Bully because of all the shitty mini-games. Frankly, I wish developers would stop trying to sodomize gamers by making them play a different variety of half-baked asswater every 15 minutes. Also, I really hate scrolling shooters; headaches != worthwhile.
