Hey, guess who's back!!
The Wachowski Brothers have lost their fucking minds dude. I mean, at first it looks really badass, but then it just looks cheesebally as fuck. Maybe it's supposed to be cheesebally and that's half the fun of the film, but wtf man.
The Wachowski Bros. are tripping off more shrooms than the Mario Bros.

I mean, all of the scenes where he's on that futuristic track look completely awesome, but what's with the desert? It looks like shit.

You can't blame them for making the movie have the same feel as the old cartoon. After all the Transformers was an awsome movie and they did that.

Might I recommend you more carefully word your statements in the future? Not to bash you or anything. I'm just making note on that after reading that since I noticed it could be understood in at least 3 different ways.

was never a speed racer fan anyway. It was one of those shows on cartoon network/boomerang where I would only watch (while only paying half attention ) when I would stay home sick.

Sorry. I meant it as sarcasm. I was trying to point out how different the Transformers movie was from its original cartoon and how much it kicked ass, while the Speed Racer film looks like it is going to have a corny old cartoon feel to it.

I'm probably going to go see it. The color palette totally got me.
I expect an intentionally campy action/fun fest, kinda like the Dick Tracy movie.
I really can't bash it for looking cheesy, cuz its based on a cheesy show, and I think it realizes how amazingly over the top it is.
I can't say the W Bros. have wowed me with everything they've done, but I liked their interpretation of V for Vendetta a lot, so I'll give it a chance.
Much like Grind House, you can't take it too seriously. I mean, that's a big part of the joke. I think you go into it expecting something campy and bizarre, you come out satisfied.
