Try again in a day or two as I was having the exact same problem using Java the usual way yesterday and had to use mIRC (which I'm usually too lazy to open up). I think there were some technical difficulties relating to the site, because I also used the method I mentioned in my pm to play elsewhere and it worked just fine for that.
