Hey, I think I've waited long enough since upgrading to 2.81, and now it's time for me to try and run homebrew applications on it.

First, is there still an issue with PSPs with the new motherboard bricking when you try to downgrade?

Second, is the only way to downgrade after 2.81 by using the GTA:LCS exploit?

Third, is it worth it?

*looks around, all clear*

Just for you, there are two good ways of downgrading without GTA now. 1) Using Lumines, a hacked savegame, and firmware 3.50. 2) If you know anyone else with a hacked PSP or are willing to buy from Datel is to use a battery exploit that is designed around being an unbricker. Lumines method is probably a lot easier, and the game is cheap, common, and easy to get a hold of. There are tutorials for both all over the place, best places to look are afterdawn or PSP dedicated sites. Best of luck.

The PSP homebrew scene is definitely the place to be at right now. I remember the first time I ran hello world back in 2005. Ever since the lumines exploit came out, i've been dying to get my hands on a new psp. GBA emulators work full speed, PSX emulators ( or rather the psx games that sony put out for the psp ) are just as good. And there's ALL sorts of Homebrew that are very useful. In fact, PSPradio was how I came across BreakmanX.com... memories...

And Vamp!!!! Jesus man what the hell! where have you been? I miss you soooo much! Don't leave me again!

Maybe I'll do that Lumines thing. There's a Blockbuster like a block from here. Thanks.
