I saw blood: the last vampire a couple days back. I think this movie should've been a full-length film. It would've kicked so much ass. it's basically a prequel to the Blood+ anime series. after I saw the movie i was inspired to watch the series. I was kind of dissapointed : ( . I really really liked the early 2000'ish animation style of Blood: the last vampire. I think they should've done the same with Blood+( Blood+ looks exactly like Bleach, not to mention it comes from the same people that did bleach)
. I'm not saying Bleach looks bad, but i think the animation from the movie adds to the intesity more (btw the sound in this movie was awesome. ) I only saw episodes 1 and 2, but i do feel slightly dissapointed. It just feels too much like just another one of those come-and-go animes of today. Also, the movie didn't really explain any backstory from what i've seen. Has anyone else seen more of Blood+? what do you think of it? I think some of you might agree the animation from the 2000 movie was much better.

Sorry, I don't usually do the whole bloody anime thing. Hellsing would be the one exception.

I'm not big on vampires but I do dabble in Blood+ every now and then. It's not the best anime in the world, but I am a little intrigued by it. Little upset that Trinity Blood got replaced by it before I saw the last episode. I hope it wasn't like most animes which seem to try to throw things together for an ending to meet a deadline and end up having a crappy ending and mediocre episode...s-CRY-ed...Eureka 7...tsk tsk...

Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop did a great job with bringing things to an end. Probably because they didn't push the story too far to a point where the show seems be attempting to eat itself much like a snake would try to eat it's own tail.

Either way, I do agree that the style in Blood: The Last Vampire was better, but Blood+ isn't that bad. Granted I haven't actually seen the movie, but the style is much more to my likely. IMO you have to see Blood running in motion though, as the movie does look much better in motion than it does in a screencap.

I believe the styles are a sort of symbolism, as Blood+ is set around modern-day or some time in the future, while Blood is set in WW2. They did the different styles to represent the new days and the old days. Either way Blood's style is much better.

Also, they do show flashbacks of Blood every now and then. I was frickin' excited at the beginning of the 1st episode of Blood+...then the kick ass fighting and art style went away and was replaced by mediocre dialogue.

Cheesy romance animes...*shiver*. I did watch 1 of those once that I thought was doing a good job...but then it started being too obvious with the love crap and ended up ruining it all. It was rather...original...and unique... Could've been better, but I like the fact that the creators tried to do something different at least.

I believe the name of said show was Air. You can easily blow through all the episodes in 6 hours online since it was only 13 episodes long, the final episode being a recap which I didn't watch because of that. There was also a movie, and I liked the presentation somewhat better in that version. It was essentially the same story, just different character designs and a few modifications. Fixed some things I didn't like and ruined some things I liked. Overall the fixes overpowered the things that were ruined, so I like the movie's story a little better.

If that's what it was then they should've kept the fuckin story revolved around the WW2 era :( , or at least just keep that art style any way.

Either way I like having the vampire in WW2 than in a modern-day Japan. Much more original. I mean we have a Japanese Vampire in WW2. Come on. That's a great setting. Modern-day Japan isn't as good for a vampire story.
