PS3 RUMBLE!! Fuckin' Finally!
So i turned on my ps3 today to see if there were any new demos and such, Then i got an alert that there is a new system update available for download.
This firmware update included 3 new improvements:
1.) the ability to download the original playstation titles and actually play them ON your ps3 instead of having to play them on a psp. ( and i i'm not sure but i think they also said ps2 software. )
2.) The ability to use your ps3's save files on your psp. (i'm guessing for cross-gaming such as metal gear acid 2's Subsistence link or Socom PSP's connectivity to Socom 3.)
3.) The most important of all: RUMBLE. ( also with ps1/ps2 software titles. ) Now I'll be proud to refer to it as a Dual shock 3.
Granted, you still have to buy the SIXAXIS-RUMBLE controller with the built-in Splitfish SensorFX technology. Something about Rumble coming NOW after they said it was a thing of the past just makes me wonder a little bit... I can't help but feel they've yet again succeeded in finding a way to suck teh money out of our ass holes.

I still don't care that much about rumble. I don't have it on my PSP, I don't have it on my PC, and I turn it off on my Xbox, GameCube, and PS2 because it's distracting and annoying. If you've got a racing wheel and are looking for the ultimate realism then it might play a factor, but otherwise it's just kinda pointless.
Oh, and that PS1 downloads playing on PS3 thing is pretty sweet. Also, when they refer to saves, they are referring to the PS1 game saves used on PSP.

But Sony said it to cover up for the fact that they were getting their asses sued.BreakmanX wrote:Nintendo said that gamers didn't want internet connectivity. Well the statistics of last generation did favor Nintendo's statement (until roughly around 2005/2006, somwehere around that time) according to my sources, which don't ever seem to be valid these days (since Vamp's are clearly more acknowledgable...which include only himself 80% of the time), despite the fact that once Nintendo opened up into the online market it was a huge damn success for them (half of their Mario Kart DS fanbase logged online in what? a month was it?).
Regardless, if I had to choose, I'd pick the ignorant bastard over the blatant liar since the ignorant bastard can be educated, but you can't fix a liar (unless you lose freedom of speech, but no one wants that).

Actually the statement about people "not wanting" HD never occurred. They said that HD wouldn't boom until the end of this console generation, so it wasn't worth the money to invest in it, and so far that statement is true. Also, Counter-Strike was only popular online because you HAD to play it online. For the record, the small percentage of Xbox owners that actually played online does't make it popular. To be popular means you need to have the mass majority on your side, not the just the small minority.
I swear...Online gaming is projected in the gaming community like Muslim terrorists are on the news.
EDIT: Regardless, Vamp. Despite whether one of us is right or wrong, I think you know as well as I do where this topic will go if we argue over it which is nowhere.

You're just flat wrong on this. People didn't have to download CS (for free, FFS), but they did because they (*gasp*) WANTED to play online. And no, there are many, many things that are popular that aren't in the majority.
Also, it isn't about how available HDTVs are, it's the fact that the millions of people that have them want content (*gasp*) in HD! And as more content becomes available, more people will want to buy HDTVs. As more people buy HDTVs, it will become cheaper to buy them, and everyone can enjoy a nicer experience.
