Devil May Cry 4 is now officially multiplatform. It will release simultaneously on PS3 and 360.
Also, Ace Combat 6 has been announced for 360, and the Famitsu article that broke the news claims it's a 360 exclusive. Rumors also fly that a new Katamari game is coming to 360, although that may be multiplatform.
It just got a little hotter in herre.

I don't know... I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, having so many multiconsole games makes it easier to just buy one console and stick with it.
On the other hand, having less exclusives makes me less likely to buy multiple consoles, which at the same time makes me unable to buy those "rare" titles that will be exclusive. Also inevitably, given the same development time, multiconsole games will not also be as good as they could've been on a single console due to the time that's being wasted porting said games that could've gone into bug-testing or adding new content.
Sure would be nice to have an industry standard for gaming consoles.

Sometimes no time is really wasted on porting. If they work with multiple studios, sometimes the shittiest studio gets stuck with porting. Ubisoft does this very often with their Montreal studio IIRC. Just look at what happened when Ubisoft Montreal tried to make a game. We got Farcry: Vengeance. (pay special attention to the word, "tried")Vamp wrote:I don't know... I have mixed feelings. They made Vegas? Wow, that game felt more like it had the Shanghai effort put behind it rather than a half-assed Montreal attempt. After seeing Vengeance I almost assumed that whenever Montreal was actually told to make a game the studio went on lock-down, a red flashing light went off, and a loud alarm sounded as everyone ducked under their tables in fear.RurouniQ wrote:Hey now. Ubisoft Montreal made Rainbow Six Vegas. Lay off.
I'll probably get a PS3 someday. All I'm thinking about right now though is DMC4 achievements!
After coming in contact with Vengeance you'd think it too. I swear on the graves of the all the kittens I've killed on lonely nights.
