In fact, nothing negative at all, about anything. Anything negative can be saved for another thread.

I really like the layout. It has some of the most interesting engineering I've seen in a console. And that is one nice fan. 16cm. It takes the place of several smaller fans running at higher rpm, probably a large part of why it is reportedly so quiet.

I just looked at the opened box of a PS3. I have to say right now, it'd be kind of a let down to pay $600 and then open that box to find it that empty...

Funny how some people cannot help but do the exact opposite of what they are asked to do, even if it is such a simple request as "Please don't be a complete asshole."

Hmm, life is funny that way.

So yeah, Break? You can go ahead and delete this thread, it's obviously not going to work. I had hoped it would be a safe thread for people to display enthusiasm for the PS3 without having to deal with shit.

Yeah, it is really dissapointing for me, honestly. Every system that has ever come out has been treated the same way but for some reason the ps3 is much hated. I'm not really sure why an honest debate can't take place on the subject.

The forum is a place for freedom of speech though, which is why no thread has been locked so far. I won't delete this thread or any other when people hijack it or what not. Just like my views of censorship with anything else: if you don't like it, don't buy it. That is the American way to kill things, not by censorship. If anyone doesn't like the direction of a paticular thread, ignore it please. Or try to post your opinion in a reasonable fashion. There will not be a thread deleted until an actual rule is broken. I've actually appointed a third party to do discipline as well, since I've been accused of eating babies and banning the wrong people.

I love everyone here, but as I've said before, lets try to choose compassion over fear; love over hate. Anger is fine and can be positive, but not when it descends below any kind of logic or reason. Everything I do or like follows this theme. From my favorite band, movies, people, and my own projects. It is not an original idea of mine, but one I've always migrated towards. I'm not a dictator, and will not forcfully enforce this, but has always been my ideal forum.

I'm a gaming/electronic junkie, and this is gonna be a great new addition to the collection next year for me. Once the ps3 is sitting next to my 360, I will feel complete...

...until I go buy a Wii later in the year too, and feel even better.

I'm still going to keep Xbox LIVE up and running, even with the PS3 online being free. If it's better, that's cool, but to me, there's no reason to have a 360 if you don't have LIVE.

I didn't state anything negative in that sentence. If you have a problem with me thinking that a box is extremely empty when I pay $600 for it, then I suppose it'd also be negative to say I'm disappointed to pay 50 cents for a small pack of gum in a vending machine, or it'd be a disappointment to spend 60 cents on a can of soda in a machine when I could get a bottle which has twice as much for $1.

Simply put, it is a severe let down. Even if the boxes in other systems are empty, at least tehy try to makei t look more full. I really get kind of disappointed if there's so much empty space in a box, it just makes it seem more lackluster. I'm sure that relates to a psychological thing that Break probably learned about in his fancy class. I dunno. I have a very minor understanding of human psychology. Just things I picked up here and there.

There's not much in it so that your $600 (or $500) purchase doesn't get destroyed if something goes wrong in shipping. Somehow I think that would be a far worse fate.

I'm just really really really excited for Genji 2. I bought Genji 1 a few months ago (FOR $9!!! WHAT A DEAL) and I fell in love with it. Of course, 1 game isn't worth $600, so of course I'm excited for a lot of other games too.

Maybe it's just me, but the games coming out for the PS3 excite me.
