Brute Force Review

So I purchased the blockbuster game freedom pass a few weeks ago and was consumed by work and darkcloud2 (expect a review soon)... I decieded 2 nights ago that i would go and rent KOTOR, but it wasn't there obviously... Then a game I had seen first when I bought my xbox with halo in the slip they gave you with the "upcoming releases", Brute Force, I'm thinking it's halo, only 3rd person and it came out later so it should be better (I know I'm niave and stupid when I get excited)!!!!!!
Bad:
Got home and put it into my xbox watching the awesome cutscenes kinda reminiscent of starcraft - the bugs... Then I start to play the game... First of all, the camera is like the mario 64 camera.... and that just dosen;t work... you have to concentrate on controlling the camera angle while shooting... and then shooting... when you turn and shoot, the game designers apparently thought it would be a good idea to insert jerky physics into the game... so when you move your analog stick to turn left or right, your f***ing character deciedes that he'll take 5 seconds before the does this and what's worse is that your actually pointed where you want to be and the character is stll moving and when you shoot, you think you;'re shooting straight and instead you're shooting to the side... This pissed me off so much...
Then came the poorly lit levels and not to mention the crappy interface you use to issue orders.... to issue orders you use the d-pad and select the team mate you want to use and then the game pauses and brings up what I can only describe as a tutorial screen telling you what the commands are and then you hit your command... i can't tell you how many time you use this in the game especially when you want to go solo with the chick that has invisibility... after like 4 missions the screen make you want to gouge your eyes out with a rusty spoon... And then the team system jsut doesn;t work very well at all it feels like your the one doing all the work (killing ect.) and that really sucks...
Whil the cutscenes are good, the briefing scenes get very repeditive it feels like sameold sameold
Good:
Awesome cutscenes... Very nicely maped levels... Kewl graphic detail
Overall:
I'd give this a C for effort... it works to be a good shooter but like anything that has come after halo for the box... fails miserably... halo set a standard in fun that nothing thrown out for xbox meets...
