Ohh the sweet, sweet Irony....
Pirating a game about Pirates.

Seriously though, Im hoping this game ships with a 'construction set' or 'world builder' cause Im aching to make some Evil Magic Pirates.
Edit: It brings back memories of the 'Pizza' mod I made for Morrowind.. I'd love to 'port' it to this game. kekeke.

hehe, self incrimination, I love it.

But, that is why, if I was a developer, I would never make a PC game. :D

I never said that was a screenshot from my computer... I um.. found it on some other website. Yeah, thats the ticket.. And Im sticking to that story if any Cops, Nosey reporters, or pesky kids come around asking me about it..

And just out of spite, If I ever become a developer, Im never going to make a console game. Unless management tells me to.

How do I like it? I will tell you in exactly 1 second....

EDIT:
The PC controls are terrible!! It seems to be nothing more than a poor port from the Xbox.. and that makes me very sad. I dont know what the hell they were thinking, but the controls are a nightmare. You can control your ship with the WASD keys (thats a good thing), but to control the menus, you have to use the danm arrow keys (thats a bad thing). And when your guy is on land; you can forget about using WASD, it only supports a insanely made mouse movement system. To move forward you hold the left mouse button, and change direction by moving the mouse - but that means no strafing! OMG WTF -why?!?! Its not like they are using these keys for other things, they are sitting there unused? Patch please -let me use them!!! PLEASE!!!

Anyway, besides the unforgivably bad controls, the graphics are pretty nice, the music seams very good -although, there is a real lack of voice acting which makes me sad too. Mod-ability seems average, there is no Construction set, but the entire game is 'scripted' through a huge number of text files -similar to GTA3 is for the PC.

Overall, my first impression isn't very good. I died in a shitty bar fight becasue I couldn't master the shitty fighting control.. and I hadn't saved because I figured I was relativly safe only 25 minutes into the game and in a friendly town.. Ohh well, prehaps extend play testing will prove me otherwise, but this title is hitting the back-burner for now, cause the Diablo II beta came out!! And that seems like much more fun.

Updated impressions of the game..

Gets more fun if you can get around the horrible controls.. You get used to them after a while, but you spend the whole game wishing they were better. Once you get over the games steep learning curve, it becomes quite enjoyable. The Naval battles are simplistic, yet difficult... Everytime you go out to see may very well be your last.. And even with a fairly good size fleet, you can still get your ass handed to you on a platter by pirates. Although, I must say, nothing beats boarding an enemy ship, claiming it as your own, then selling it at the nearest port for $30k gold.. :)
